Hello, a new Gulfport wellsite and prep began on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 on the farm owned by Dick and Kaye Clay, of Freeport & Moorefield townships in Harrison county. When we first knew they were going to drill on us, I got on the web searching for any kind of information on the subject. There isn't a lot out there for the landowner. So I will be attempting to let you know what's going on, as it happens, in the hopes that it will help others.
ODNR approved the permit on June 13. We found this out by searching the web, not direct contact. Then on June 19 it was crazy with people coming and going.
2 large dozers began moving top soil. The last 2 days they have been working on the access road. Keep in mind this is on private property and there is no way to get close to watch the happenings, like at the boy scout camp and Rysers.
More info as it happens, Kaye

great news!
K it was great to hear your story in Canfield this weekend. Since you don't have a pipeline yet, are they removing the gas/oil/etc by tanks? Just wondering how that works when the infrastructure is not in place yet. Any other paperwork required in Ohio before royalties ( like)
the division orders in Texas? Just trying to get an idea of it works from production forward.
Thanks!
The latest news here is that they are drilling well #2 and pushing to get the pipeline in the ground to get the first well into production.
Thanks K- word in our area is that the pipeline will not be going in to our well until October so it is not moving as fast as one would hope.
Mrs Clay, could you tell me how long a time period it was between Gulfport contacting you about doing a well, signing, and then moving in? I see it was only 7 days after the permit was approved that they moved equipment in but I'm really curious how long the whole process takes. Thank you for any information.
It seems we were notified first part of May, 2012. Had surveying and paperwork, then they moved in the 3rd week of June. That first well was done, except for production, the 3rd week of Jan. 2013. They did tell me that the time frame for every well would be different, dependant on many circumstances. And the well is still not in production, but Mark West is hustling to get it there.
2013 Q3 production numbers for the Clay pad:
well # oil gas days of production
Clay 1-H 1,704 B 19,912 35
Clay 2-H 5,434 B 37,157 19
Clay 3-H 9,939 B 70,720 32
Clay 4-H 1,637 B 24,414 14
Randy
Real nice numbers. Anyone have know why the 2H & 3H are outproducing the 1H & 4H? Just luck of the draw?
Harrison and Noble have some strong oil numbers.
They have had some trouble with a couple of our wells and are working on them. That is why 2 & 3 are doing better than 1 & 4. It is my understanding that this in not uncommon, for well production to fluctuate from month to month due to work they are doing topside.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
