I hope the reports are correct for all of the counties mentioned here - Tusc., Stark and Ashtabula.
Need more wells and any technical innovation that may be required to prove it and recover it.
Need more infrastructure to distribute the production.
Need to keep and use our energy here in the USA.
Need to quit diverting the mission with blather and posturing / maneuvering all intended to rip off the landowners and domestic energy consumers.
In general need a sea-change from all of the above that appears to me to be occurring.
I believe, and I'm hoping this all not to far off in the future. When ground breaks on the Kinder Morgan processing plant in SE Tusc. county....I'll feel more confident that it will happen.
Still waiting on the ODNR production numbers from the 2 wells in Tusc.
Still waiting on the next wells to be drilled....should be at least 3 more this year.
I believe 2014-2015 will be the boom for Tusc county. All the things I have read all point in that time frame for activity to really ramp up. I wonder why Kinder Morgan has not officially announced the plant yet? It seems they have most of the necessary permits to get started on the construction phase.
Very true Joseph. Seems like a double edged sword anyway you look at it. I wonder how much more oil can be recovered with different techniques.? Really what is commercial producing quantities in these companies eyes when it comes to oil? Their Frank well in Stark county produced 360 barrels a day in oil can it be that much higher?
I would say the oil companies and drilling companies will find a way to get this oil out of the shale. If the Frank well was producing 360 bbl of oil per day wait till the find the right combination of drilling procedures and technology to produce this oil commercially. We might have to wait a few years, but the oil isn't going anywhere. I agree that if the price of oil goes up, the time frame might be less, but if there is oil there, it will be figured out. At least lets hope so!
We believe on the other hand on the volatile oil window side that it holds significant potential. We estimate based on historical well logs and core data from our conventional wells, the portions of the oil window hold 20 million barrels to 30 million barrels per section. This compares very favorably with other oil shales. However, only six wells have been drilled in the oil window today and the results have not been good.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
