Part of the uptick is due to a series of flash fires and explosions that killed refinery workers who weren't wearing proper clothing, prompting a 2010 memo by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration requiring workers at these industrial facilities to wear flame-resistant clothes.

All the companies I have worked for since 2007 have required FRC as part of standard work wear.  I believe OSHA rules have been to that effect for quite a while.  

Fashion FRs I have yet to see on company crews. Companies usually go with a standard uniform (cover hauls) you do see some in the patch usually management as FR clothing is not cheap and I guess if everyone was to wear fashion FRs we would need a FR label checker on site.  

Joe with burning 12,000 gallons of diesel per day while fracking and seeing a clean white wash cloth go black upon washing your face off I believe diesel soot known to be a carcinogen will get to a person first
