New to posting here but have been lurking for a while.

Oliver, gotta say that you are amazing digging up all this stuff.  I know where to find some of it but have a slow internet connection and not much patience.

The Reno Unit is of interest to me as I am just a mile and a half away as the crow fly's.  Somewhat oddly shaped as the pad is in the lower SE corner. Would really like to see the plat. If you know where I may obtain that it would be greatly appreciated

The drilling rig was there for maybe 10 days and has just recently left. Rex must be pretty sure about it because there is a pipeline already staked out heading generally West.  According to Rex's latest Corp presentation they are scheduled to drill 19 wells in Butler Co. this year. Perhaps next year they will put others along the pipeline. Haven't seen any new permits in Middlesex lately.

Thanks for the good info.

FMV,

Thanks for the compliment, but I don't consider myself to be amazing, just too much time on my hands. lol  I do like to help provide info for all the residents of Butler County. It's best for everyone to be as informed as possible on the drilling prospects in the county.

I will get the Reno plat for you and post it to this thread on Monday. My source for obtaining the plats is on vacation this week but should be back Monday. The Reno unit is oddly shaped, but I would bet it will be amended in the future. Thanks for providing the info on the rig's duration & departure there.

I think very soon new drilling permits will be applied for in Middlesex by REX. They recently applied for a stormwater permit for the Kennedy Site in northwest Middlesex. XTO had two drilling permits for that site, but apparently decided against drilling there and surrendered the lease of the property owner. He then leased with REX in January of this year. He owns 372 acres there. It's 3.4 miles directly west of the Reno Pad. I am fairly sure that is the site of this stormwater permit & future well pad. Here is a link to the applied for permit & I attached a map of the area.

Thank You very much Oliver.

I too have the time, but as I said not the patience.

You most certainly are doing the residents of Butler Co.a service by providing the info.

I agree 100% that it is best for everyone to be as informed as possible. The prospects for this County long term are enormous. I do not believe the surface has even been scratched. Sadly, I don't think most of the landowners realize how much value is there.

Rex has a real sweet spot in the County. By the info in their Corp. Presentation to stock annalist and stockholders they have 4 stacked "plays". The Rhinestreet, the Burkett, the Marcellus and the Utica.  All pretty much "proven" It's gonna take a hundred years to get all the gas outta here!

Anyway - before I get wound up and go on a rant.

I was aware of a kerfluffel between XTO and the land owners but did not no know Rex now has the lease. This makes the pipeline stakeout come into focus. From the stakes I have seen it is going to go almost on a straight line to the Kennedy pad. Just for the heck of it I will do a little Sunday driven and try to confirm that, but it makes perfect sense.

If I get really ambitious I will take your N Middlesex pdf and mark it up w/the route as near as I can determine.

As for the Reno Unit - I have a pretty good guess as to how that will play out. Amended and possibly 1 or 2 units added close by. Rex needs to lock up some of their older leases in the next year or two.

Again, thanks for the good info. Better informed-hopefully - better decisions.

Cheers

I agree this whole thing is very early in it's development, and it's a wonderful thing for all of Butler County. REX has been leasing quite a bit in Middlesex the past couple of months. And along with the 27 Middlesex leases they bought from XTO recently, I think they have big plans for Middlesex Township in the very near future.

Good luck, I hope you are in a unit soon. I will post the Reno plat here on Monday.

Attached is the REX - Reno Well Plat located in Middlesex Twp. for anyone interested.

Also, REX did apply for two drilling permits for the Kennedy Pad in Middlesex Twp. Here is the link for those.

Oliver,

Thank you very much for the plat. Very informative. The plats have so much detail. I find them very interesting.

Rex has just leased more properties around Brownsdale, Jones, and Powell Rd in southern Penn Twp.

I have heard rumors of three more possible pads in that area. If I can confirm any of them I will post here.

Thanks Again.

You're welcome and thanks for sharing the information you have. There is a wealth of info out there, if only people would take the time to share it with their fellow Butler County landowners. I'm glad you have become a poster instead of just a "lurker". LOL

Oliver. Nabors rig #37 left Warren County today. I heard  a week or so ago they were heading down to Lawrence County. (Shell location) If you hear it shows up in the area could you make a post.

I sure will James. The rig report I have shows the Nabors rig at Hook Run in Warren County was #39. But either way, I will report where the rig ends up.

The only rig drilling in Butler County now is at the Welter Pad in Donegal Township drilling the 5H lateral.

Yeah that would likely be the one. One interesting thing I have seen up here is that Shell has what is apparently their own rig drilling. Shell #1. It looks like a double. I don't know if it was drilling top holes or what. Have you ever seen that down where you are at. Maybe Shell will start to drill their own wells to save on costs.

James,

The Nabors #M39 rig is being set up on the Swepi Palmer Pad in Mercer County. Scheduled to start drilling the 5HD well on 6/26/13.

Well I have a little something to share and actually may have more questions than info. LOL

Saw something today that eye have never seen and it may be very common, don't know.

Was on Meridian Rd past a pad that I knew was there, don't know who the driller is. As up on things as you are you may be able to fill in the details. It is located on on Meridian Rd. just about at the intersection w/Powder Mill south of McAlmont between Renfrew and Meridian.

There is a big fence around it 15-20 ft high covered with what looks like padding maybe 2" thick. (sound proofing maybe). Could see a crane, cherry picker type boom sticking up. Bunch of those red square trailers and a cloud of diesel exhaust floating up in the one corner. Like they were running a bunch of big compressors or such.

My question is - are they just now fracking the well.? Do they need a drilling rig to do that ?

Or once the well is drilled, can and do they just thread whatever down the hole?

More ???s than info.  Cheers
