EV Energy Partners has said it intends to keep an additional 73,500 acres in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, at least for now. The acreage being retained totals 56,600 acres in Ohio and 16,900 acres in Pennsylvania.
The company said it intends to keep its shallow vertical-only wells in Ohio’s Clinton sandstone and the deeper Knox wells.
Walker also announced in Friday’s teleconference that his companies and a partner are developing a new plan to drill 20 new exploratory oil wells in three areas of Stark and Tuscarawas counties.
That drilling could begin late this year, officials said.
The company is seeking to locate and develop what’s called the volatile Utica oil window that drillers so far have largely been unable to tap.
The project’s partner was identified by Walker only as a privately held energy company with acreage near EnerVest’s holdings.

Could the partner be Sierra?

James.....so what production numbers have you seen/heard of?
Also, I agree with Mike M......no ammendments without $$$ and royalty increase.
I live in southern tusc they( ches) now back to enervest ..wanted are group to go 1280 we all said increase % and we would .Havnt seen them since. But I am sure they will be back.i live by Nettle well.
I do not remember the numbers, I think I read them in one of the past editions of Ohio Gas & Oil Magazine , where I have found much info IMHO
http://www.ohiogo.com/gas%20&%20oil/2012/10/02/back-issues-of-o...
also my atty Brad H---- told me that I could have NO % increase CHK has Enervest's existing contracts on our land
Besides I will be happy with what ever we get
Get a new atty.
I know for a fact that Consol has raised royalty percentages for unit size amendments on old shallow leases. It can be done just depends on the company who is drilling the wells.
you have any recommendations Paul ?
I don't have any recommendations....but I have 40 acres under Enervest.....and I will never sign an ammendment without a royalty increase.....especially if they are the operators.
James are you talking about Brad Hilyer? if so I would find another attorney. Problem with being HBP by an old clinton well is they stiff you big time with these lease amendments. I would not sign for a 1280 acre amendment without increased royalty. The only problem with not signing the amendment is that Chesapeake might not drill the wells and you wont get paid.
Yes, I must have been mislead ! He told me back then of him having conversations with Oklahoma execs, which now seems suspect. After a year now I have never heard from him (expecting a bill for his service) He must have got a kick back from CHK to bring these units together. F..n Attys I never trusted my whole life. Even so ...if they come ready to build the pad, and put the six holes in
( that I hear are planned) I'll be dancing !
I have heard them change their pad locations, when oppositions arise.
They have court presidents more than once to go under land people that will not sign. I red they will only need 65% signed, based on some older law. The last case stated the judge was approached after CHK won, for their share. The judge responded....do you have a signed agreement. They had none and the judge said you have no contract...no money. Not a direct quote, but same said.
They have the $ and powers to drag everyone out almost forever and end with nothing!
I am waiting on pennies from heaven...I was amazed when I purchased the land ( thru bank financing) to get the royalties. Also the past royalties have paid more than half of that note ! I feel ashamed to complain about anything I might think I am losing ?? What have I lost ?? They will always be taking advantage of land owners, I think I am better off not knowing all the BS going down.
I'm thinking ...I am living a dream ,that may come true.
people tend to be ego maniacs and want to be make the best deal..know the most and contend for position .......
Just another vent...... tu verstain
Paul, I found the #'s here
Chesapeake, in response to an analyst’s question, also offered a bit of information about a Tuscarawas County well. The Gribi well is producing 1.3 million cubic feet of natural gas plus 227 barrels of oil per day, company officials said.
This is in an older article on Ohio.com ... with some other #'s released.
of three good wells together produce only 1/3 of the famous Buell well #'s

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
