Water testing

Got a call to have are water  tested in Wills township near Old Washington  My question what is the distance from a well that water is checked .

When Eclipse and Chesapeake tested mine I think they told me 1500 feet.  But not always , depends on the company and how much they wanna cover their butts

I believe the state law in Pa is 2500 feet.  Some companies go further out to "cover their butts."

Don't know about Oh or WV.

They (Chesapeake) tests water supplies/creeks/ponds within 3000' in Western Pa. That is 3000' from the well head.

Our water was tested by chesapeake because our property line was within 3000 feet of the property line the well was going to be on.  The well itself is not even close.
