A week or so ago they finished fracing the Petrik well. Right now they are fracing the Maga well on Achortown road.
I was over at the Thompson well area. They are sellling gas as the equipment is gurgling away, however we have no way of knowing which well is supplying the product. I also counted 11 large track hoes parked in the area of the current gathering line they are installing.
I'll say it again: 2014 is the break out year for Beaver County.
Happy New Years, ALL!!!

Todd,
That is an interesting find..... ie the platts that you posted that is.
I don't understand the numbering system they are using though cause they don't match up with what they usually do. Of course we aren't in a usual area for gas drilling either. It sure would be nice to know the method of their madness : )
I'm pretty dang sure that the Fedorchak has only one well drilled tho as I've swapped emails with them sometime ago. I know for sure they have only drilled one well at the Petrik pad.
All I can say is they have a helluva lot of drilling to do in Beaver County.
Thanks for the input
Craig
Todd/Craig,
Where do you locate the well plats at? I was trying to find the ones for rolling acres, maga and Roberts pads.
I see new gathering line activity daily now, should be an interesting spring and summer.
Leo
Leo,
You can purchase plats from www.marcellusgas.org. Maybe I can get a referral fee! Just kidding.
Good Luck!
Todd
Thanks Todd. I am paying a bit more attention now that there is some activity in our area. I'll post them on here as soon as in hand!
Leo
Leo,
I believe some of what you're looking for is included in the well plat maps here:
Todd, thanks, very helpful. I need to sign up with them, to get updated info.
Also, it does appear they are using the same hole on the petrik and maga unit for example if I am looking at these correctly. 8 H M is the only one I see on the Maga pad.
Additionally, I was pretty sure the Maga well and all others nearby drilled by CHK were down to the Utica but it says on the plats deepest formation drilled to was the Marcellus. I know when CHK came to my place for a proposed pad it was a Utica and I am only about a mile from the maga well.
Is this correct on not only the maga well but others. I just wasn't aware of any Marcellus drilling, at least in northern beaver county.
( just had a thought as I was ending. I have my unit papers and it says CHK UTICA LLC on on the legal info at the end...but doesn't call the unit a Utica or Marcellus unit. Prob doesn't matter who signs etc on the documents, I don't know how many spin off companies CHK has )
Thanks again!
You're welcome Leo!
There are currently 2 permitted wells for the Maga Unit:
DEP permit number: 007-20316 = Maga 8H Utica well
DEP permit number: 007-20317 = Maga 8H M Rhinestreet well
The plats I showed you were for all of the current Rhinestreet wells in BC. CHK has 9 permits to drill UD Rhinestreet wells in western BC about 4000' shallower than the Utica wells in the same direction and parallel to the corresponding unit's Utica wells. However, none of the Rhinestreet wells have actually been spud/drilled according to the DEP spud report.
CHK has many divisions. As mentioned, Beaver and Lawrence County, Pa and Hancock County, WV are in CHK's CHK Utica Division. This is a stacked play so they are also interested in our Upper Devonian (whole county)and Marcellus (mostly to the south).

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
