My husband took a little walk on Tuesday and found that our well pressure valve that read 350 everyday is now reading 1500. Any thoughts?

It might be that you have a defective pressure gauge Bourdon tube or that something happened to damage the gauge mechanism. I would contact the operator of the well and request that the gauge be replaced..

Permalink Reply by Tony Yurina on January 30, 2014 at 5:38am This issue could stem from a downstream hydrate or freeze, thus making the well rock pressure increase, or as Brian suggested, a faulty spring gauge, some of which are not rated for extremely cold service conditions. Namely glycerin filled gauges. Speculation.
