I have not heard much about these counties and just wondered if someone out there has any information about these counties for 2014. I know everything is happening down in southern Ohio but just wondering if one of those rigs might make a wrong turn and head north instead of south!

Interesting.....and yes.....that would be significant.....
All the old HBP leases would still need to be ammended....as most have pooling limits of 160 or less.
I agree James. There is still a lot of oil that has not been recovered in the Clinton formation by conventional methods. Maybe Enervest wants to become a horizontal clinton well driller the way it is looking. They still hold massive amounts of old shallow rights leases in Ohio. My big question is will it work and will it prove to be economic?
Enervest has been trying to sell those oil window leases. They are drilling a few jv wells out there to "crack the code" and put value into land that isn't moving. If they can show economic wells, they can sell the land. If they can't, then they are going to have a bunch of PO'd shareholders. They predicted they would sell the land by YE 2012. Here in 2014, patience is wearing thin with them. Their MLP EVEP has lost 70% of it's value since 2012. They've pretty much banked the MLP on selling the land and it looks like they got punk'd by McClendon.
Snort.......what wells is this information based on?
So what about areas in eastern Stark that show they are in the wet gas zone. From what can see my farm might be right on the line between wet gas and volatile oil zone.
Snort W. Did BP drill into just the point pleasant or another formation?
Does anyone have any ideas about Northeastern Columbiana County?
Snort,
Do these same realities exist in western Guernsey County that you alluded to? Is EQT encountering paraffin problems with their wells in southwestern Guernsey?
TM,
That was my understanding too, having read several paraffin related discussions on one of the eagle ford boards (eaglefordforum.com).
Snort,
Years ago wells with a high parrafin content with solvents; could them same type (or another) treatment work on wells in the oil window ?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
