Pro-Landowner Royalty-Deduction Bill Passes Out of Committee: See how they voted (HB1684)

Yea votes stand with the land owners of Pennsylvania, Nays do not!!!! We landowners need to support those who support us. We cannot forget these people who fight for what's right for the people of Pennsylvania. The fight isn't over yet.

Let's thank Rep. Garth Everett for sponsoring this legislation

Janice - yes, we are a 'nation ruled by laws'...for whom?...really...

really now, come on - the sooner we all can realize and SAY 'we're skrewed'...the better.

we just don't want to hear ourselves say that, do we? too uncomfortable...even though it is pretty obvious. what a sham...i mean shame...perhaps, perhaps, perhaps WHAT? - it aint gonna happen.

you can 'wait & see'...but just watch - it'll be a cake that will never rise....positive? for what?...i'll be shocked if this comes out right. 'wait & see, watch & see'? see what?...they're just gonna' throw LANDOWNERS scraps from the table - only what THEY think will do...

....think i'm wrong - i hope so more than you can ever imagine...but i'm not gonna hold my breath

asonelightlightsanothernorgrowslesssonoblenessenkindlesnobleness - yes, I have taken to writing this in a continuous line now because I have lost faith in the whole matter...hope that i'm wrong with this...but i really think that it's just begun....

Yep and we have not received a check from our one Account , just unbelievable.  I want people to know that this is happening and it is getting worse and it has to be stopped.  You guys sound positive !

It would be interesting to see the party affiliation beside these names.

Any majority member is Republican and any minority member is Democrat. More importantly though is the district location and the campaign contributions for each of these members. I doubt there is a true understanding of the issue by those living outside the gas production area. And Unfortunatly some elected officials forget they represent a constituency instead their own economic interests.

You guys (John, John Capwell) are so right. We cannot assume that anyone other than ourselves  will be looking out for our particular interests. That is exactly why we need to remain alert and to support balanced oversight of what is being done in our names. It makes no difference whether or not you're a Republican, Democrat or Independent-we all need to vote for the ones that are speaking for and to us. Right now support is needed on the House Bill 1684. Darlene Newton originally began this drive, and now it's been taken up by Keith (Sponsor of this website). Please add your vote if you have not already done so. Just click on the URL below.

Exactly Dan this is a fight for ALL Pennsylvania!  It effects all of us!  Please VOTE

A mighty effort has been put forth by many to make this bill happen.  It would be fantastic if it passed w/the intent all want it to have, but realize INTENT carries no teeth w/o strong wording.  What lease signers got stuck with is the INTENT put into the 1979 law.  30+ yrs. later we realize it's a dog!

Going back in this thread I re-read Jim Taylor's comments(2) on March 18th.  He nailed the problem and the likelihood of its being solved to everyone's (leaseholders) satisfaction.

Posting how each legislator voted doesn't  tell the whole story, but it is good politics/advertisements for those who voted YEA.  If it were my job to create laws I would be torn how to vote on 1684 as it's currently written.  NAY would indicate that I don't like it's current wording and believe  politicians can do a better job.  Who wants a bad law stuck on the books for decades ... like now?  NAY votes on this issue aren't necessarily a slam against unfair royalty checks.

THINK.  "Deer tracks make mighty thin soup."  1684 is no better than deer tracks if the right words aren't there.

Darlene is right in asking everyone to vote.  Let's hope they all understand the wording in the document, and not just vote for the INTENT.  Haven't we all had enough of that.?

Janice, your points are well taken. Yet if we make it clear that we (little folk) are paying close attention to what is done in our name, then aren't we sending the message that we expect them to tighten the language and offer amendments to make something better. A sort of 'revise' rather than 'reject' philosophy.

If that reasoning makes sense, then a vote 'for' the bill isn't the last word-just the start of a long overdue effort to be fair. And knowing that we are paying attention drives the message home I think.

Thoughts?

Dan

Janice, I give you no credibility, You still did not answer a question I asked you a while a go. I will ask it again. You support,

landowners 4% and chk (ogc) 96%? please answer

See the wording means nothing, just like the wording in our gas leases means nothing. just like the GMRA means nothing to the OGC's. The oil and gas companies found a loophole to get around that with the wording (post production cost) that's all it is a loophole to beat landowners.

Philip, your points are on target, and if I read you correctly you are mightily pissed at being lied to and taken advantage of by clever legalistics. If that is a correct read on my part, I wonder if you might care to look at and hopefully sign a petition that I have started that aims to get the legislators to focus on the lying/cheating/misrepresentations done by the oil/gas companies.
