I met a leasing agent that said they were going to do seismic testing on 275 sq miles.....East of I77 from Cambridge north clear through Tuscarawas county.

He sad that they would be contacting landowner over the next 3-6 months.

Interesting if true.

The Permitting is for surface and Mineral owners - extensive process on its own right - before seismic testing they must get permission from both owners hopefully its one in the same.

They don't pay very much money for this right and they typically take a few days when in the area to do it.

This is the first step in seeing where the actually formations are before they drill a hole. Don't get all excited that a big bonus is coming for this.

Geez....and I already spent the expected 1M

I'm guessing they may offer 25 an acre  if lucky. Mostly for the the right to walk across your land for a day.

There is actually a law against MINERAL TRESPASSING -

Wow, Paul 40.000 acres is alot to mow

LOL....I get it now, you mean 40,000 acres.....times $25= 1M

If I had 40,000 acres.............

Is this seismic testing to be different than the previous seismic testing  done south of Dennison over a year ago?   They ran wires down the side of SR 800 and up the county roads that intersect it, took all of about two days.

When seismic testing was done on our WV property, helicopters dropped charges along a grid pattern which were flagged with stakes through the woods, and fields.   Also placed on the same grid were receivers that measured the seismic pattern.  The charges had to be placed a certain distance from buildings and water wells/springs.  Subsequent to the charges being set off underground, a team  retrieved the debris from the property.  This took place over several weeks.

Helen,

Do you have property in Mill Township, Tusc?

Yes, leased with CHK.

Helen,

I was wondering if you would like to communicate privately? I sent you a friend request. I inherited the 2/3 rights, you will know what that means. It might be nice to stay in touch and exchange info from time to time.

Paul is this for the TGS Freeport 3D Seismic Survey? This will be started in Q4 2014.

TM......I don't think so.....the FREEPORT map excludes Tusc. County.

I'll see if I can get more information....I asked specifically if it covered area

just East of New Phila., where I'm located, and ye said yes.

Maybe the Freeport area was expanded......who knows.

The Freeport survey says across Tusc County in the announcement. I know there has been 3D seismic data done in other townships in Tusc in the past by Evans Geophysical. I dont think much seismic has been done in eastern Tusc besides some 2D. I wonder if this is for 2D or 3D shoot?

Here is some brokered data from Evans Geophysical below at this link.
