I am in Marcellus in NY and frustrated ! We have waited over 5 years while Cuomo awaits reelection. I am interested in any insight into if and when we will ever get fracking in NY. Appreciate any input.
Thanks

you have way more to worry about than fracking with democrats in charge.
Sandra,
Did you not know that NY is "Open for Business"? I jest, herr fuhrer, a.k.a. Andrew Cuomo, has a stranglehold on NY. No departments within NY can do anything without his blessing. This is common knowledge within NY government. Personally I have a hard time accepting this kind of fascism.
Onto fracing in NY. Visit JLCNY.ORG and keep up with the current lawsuit filed by the Joint Landowner Coalition's lawsuit to force the state's hand. It is our only hope to see the moratorium lifted. Herr fuhrer is pandering to the environmental left with this one and his political aspirations have taken priority over the economics of the southern tier. It really is this simple - and pathetic.
Sandra
Cuomo has been nothing but honest, forthright, and truthful with people like you. He has told you you are not welcome in New York and he has told you to leave New York. If you were smart you would listen to Governor Cuomo. Why any sensible person would make their home in New York I have no clue. I live in Pennsylvania, but close to the NY border. We are being overrun with refugees from upstate New York, freedom seekers, escaping the tyranny of Cuomo and the NYC limousine liberals. I'm not in the least surprised. New York is the worst state in the United States of America. It is even worse than California, which runs a very close second (I personally believe California is worse, but the numbers say otherwise).
Since you will not listen to the above, here is something for you to watch. Watch the New York State Senate. Right now control is split. If Democrats win uncontested control of the New York State Senate this November roll up the carpets, turn out the lights, and stick a fork in the once-great Empire State. It will be permanently cooked.
Finally, you asked about fracking . . . . in New York!!! You were kidding, right? You had to be kidding.
New York will never change. C'mon this is the state that elected Hillary CLinton for senate and she wasn't even living in NY. Michael Bloomburg another douche brought to you by NYC. Rudolph Guliani . I was born and raised there. NY used to be fun until Guuiliani was elected. It used to be free. 42'nd st. Fireworks , Clubs, hookers by the pier.. Rudolph killed all the good stuff. HECK when i was a kid you could buy Bazookas and sub machine guns from the street.
Now you can't even drink a soda or sugary drink without getting in trouble. Any bar a beer is going to cost at least $8. Smokes $13 a pack.Tolls for every road NYC is the asshole of the USA
Doesn't matter if Cuomo is in or out .FRACKING WILL NEVER HAPPEN IN NY!!!!
Remember, it's all about money and time. With gas selling at a low $4.50 market price, NY politics will not even consider it.When a major world shattering event occurs, like whats beginning to happen in Iraq and the oil stops flowing from over there, then things will change. But time will tell.
My understanding is that he was ready to do limited drilling in the 4 counties that border PA and wham-o his x-wife got to him and suddenly he decided to do a health study - which was supposed to take a couple months. Well that has stretched out to years and then the Health Commissioner resigned ! We all know that this is purely political and after the election he will approve it. Even he can't scoff at the millions of dollars in recovery fees that PA has collected from the GAS. Makes me sick - the southern tier is hurting so bad and they stop us from using what is OURS ! I know all about the lawsuit and all the other points brought up. I was hoping for something fresh. Guess I'll just have to wait until after November. Sigh - this and Keystone both have a lot in common. Gets old.
All the inner city liberals by upstate NY property for vacation. All are commie yuppies. It doesn't matter before after during who gets elected. Never in a million years will fracking happen in New York. Besides New Yorkers are rich . They Oil Gas companies would have to pay $1,000,000 an acre to make it worth while to these people. All New Yorkers are bankers or government workers.
Yup. Sandra is making the mistake of thinking she still lives in America - where people have property rights - whereas actually she is living in New York State, where citizens do not.
Sandra's land, and land belonging to her neighbors, is in reality part of a huge downstate New Yorker's playground. It is theirs to drive through and visit, enjoying the ambiance any time they wish. It's a getaway for them. They do not want to experience the industrialization, the endless rumbling of large trucks (however temporary), and so forth that drilling will bring to a region they enjoy today unencumbered and virtually gratis.
New York State is completely under the control of such downstate liberals. Sandra, albeit she remains unaware, is today merely their servant, a caretaker of their lands. Making things even worse, the snarling liberals seldom even take a moment to say "thank you". Liberals, in general, do not thank others for things they insanely view as their birthright.
Pittsburgh is in receivership, broke, sitting on a boatload of oil in the upper Devonian. no drilling there. liberals.
I forgot the third thing, Politics, that's why it is so important, now of all times to get out the vote. This November could turn everything around.
Sandra; the only way for western NY to ever be a success is for them to secede from NY and start a new state. I would love to see western NY, western Pa, and eastern Ohio all start a new state. Break free from the liberals in NY and Philly and start a state based on real world economics.
I know this will probably never happen. But if people in w NY start working towards that goal, it would help get the attention of the state government and maybe make them more responsive to the needs of the people in w NY.

But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
