Maybe they flipped some of it to other drillers...?

Lance,
Were that the case, wouldn't land owners be notified?
They haven't done anything with the leases. I know of one instance for sure where they let the lease expire. It was 200 acres in columbiana county. Was an artex lease that anadarko acquired. It expired 6 months ago.
I have been in a lease with Anadarko for three years in Knox Township. So I have two years left but their total lack of activity leads me to believe that my lease could expire as well. It seems odd that some companies are working feverishly while others, like Anadarko, are doing absolutely nothing.
Yes but you have to realize that anadarko is MUCH bigger than most of these companies that are actively drilling the utica. They have many more profitable prospects to drill. The utica acreage is/was a drop in the bucket for them.
Is it your educated guess that Anadarko will abandon their Utica holdings?

Does anyone know why the directional wells in either direction do not go under Interstate 70???

Good question. I've read where they have been applying for forcepooling with the state at locations where they are wanting to go under that property. Maybe it reguires that scenario any time they need to go under the interstates. I-77 may be the same. The state of Ohio loves the $$$ it's getting from the O&G wells, taxes mainly, but they haven't leased Salt Fork  Park or any other lands that could pocket them some serious cash.Maybe after the election? Focepooling takes time and $$4 that the drillers may not want to fool with as long as there are plenty of other places to drill.

This is very interesting since the private land on the West side of Salt Fork where the pads might be placed for directional drilling under the park is pretty much bordered by I-77 to the west. Looks like it will be a while before we see a rig.

go to odnr website and look under unitization. then look under the finneran or Collins  wells that had hearings in Columbus. just look thru the material and you can figure out what's going on. It appears the state isn't very cooperative with drilling under their roads. can't understand why, that money could be used for road or bridge  improvement. I t looks like they are not interested in bonus or royalty money and are going to be force pooled.  Hope this helps.

I70 is under Federal jurisdiction. I'm sure that's a factor.

Maybe after the next Presidential election when we have a 'United States friendly' president instead of a 'Muslim Friendly' one they will release this land and we can become even more energy independent....
