Which companies might consider buying Infinity Natural Resources for it`s Marcellus/Utica development in Armstrong/Indiana counties?  They seem to be doing well.

thanks for the info.  The map he displayed seems like it is pretty high level so it is hard to say exactly where they operate, although it looks like Indiana and Armstrong counties but we know much of that area has been leased by CNX and INR.  As to the future, just look at the wva, pa and ohio well maps in the core areas.  Tons of wells already drilled.  Not that many wells in those counties, seems to me people in that area are going to see a slow but steady increase in activity.

famgas, not sure if this vid is of interest to you, but some discussion of mergers/acquisition landscape in the Utica/Marcellus.  Of interest I think to you is a statement that Southwest Appalachia has more running room than Northeast Pa, and is more likely to see business.  In addition there is a prediction that the number of public companies is likely to shrink in the near future.  (one of the deals mentioned is that Antero is marketing there Ohio Utica for $1 billion or so (although some don't think it is worth it as the best inventory has been already drilled).

Hart Energy Mergers and Acquisitions.  One of the questions is whether or not a company like Snyder Brothers that operate in the area which seems to be of interest to you might be a target (not mentioned by them, but they have been mentioned as great operators for a family owned business)

Thanks, very interesting news.  Snyder Bros is an interesting candidate for a buy-out.  I hadn`t thought of them before you mentioned their name.  The other large public gas company operating in the area is CNX Gas.  Would they be a candidate for a buy-out, too?

One of the panelists mentioned that there are three public companies (other than EQT) and she said that the over under on 3 in the future, go for the under.  CNX might be the best bet (out of Range, CNX and Infinity)  Not sure why Antero and Gulfport aren't included, maybe because they are WVA and Ohio focused.

I continue to see new Huntley & Huntley entries in the Indiana County Recorder of Deeds website.  Are they just acquiring opportunities for parcels or are they looking to drill someday?

famgas, nice information!  I expect we are seeing the next step in their strategy to buy up acreage between the Southwest and Northeast.  The guy in charge is an oil and gas guy, fully expect to see them drill sometime in the future once they have a big enough position.  Can you tell where these parcels are compared to CNX, INR and I guess EQT?  Filling in the blanks for north and east of what we see in the CNX display?

Kambe, check your Oct 23 reply for my reply just now.  For some reason I couldn`t reply to your latest reply.

Huntley & Huntley have new entries that follow the Armstrong/Indiana border with recent ones appearing in Washington Township & South Mahoning Township following thta line you have described as northeast towards Clearfield County.  I`m not certain what they might be doing on the Armstrong County side of the border.  I think the recent parcels might comingle with each of the gas companies you mention.

Here is something from grok:

Huntley & Huntley
Central-Western (Potter, Centre, Armstrong)
New startup targeting deep Utica/Tier II Marcellus post-$1.8B Olympus sale to EQT.
Early leasing (5k-20k acres); focus on 15-20 Bcf EURs.
Pair this with your comments on Indiana County leasing.

Anything new with Huntley & Huntley?

Is Infinity Natural Resources too successful to be bought now?  They seem to be doing very well in Pennsylvania.

The top management are from Ohio, so they aren't motivated to sell (of course they are backed by private equity, so who knows).  I think they would like to grow the company.  Since you seem to be in western Pa, have you seen them or Huntley or Huntley continue to lease?  I have mentioned they are starting a position in Tuscarawas County Ohio.

Not aware of any for INR.
