Joseph,
I believe Ashtabula & Trumbull counties are a wash at least into the foreseeable future. It was a nice dream eh?
All IMHO :

Don't give up the ship MJ.

'Foreseeable Future' - actually don't think anyone can see the future with any absolute certainty myself. Not a believer in time travel myself but rather a believer in the speed of light as an un-defeatable and absolute law of the natural universe / universal speed limit myself.

The resources are there as we've been told.

When they want them they will get them.

That can happen anytime depending on a multitude of variables.

Of great concern to me is maintaining our landowner rights of ownership as time passes; as it also seems the O & G Industry continues (and I think will forever continue) to angle to usurp / sieze them.

I take it no news that you know of regarding the Magyar then ?
MJ,

I'm also noticing a strange set of circumstances as these shale wells are being developed; being that exploration in the Utica / Marcellus seems to have left a hole / cessation of development in northwestern PA (Erie and even Crawford Counties in PA) along with northeastern OH (northern Trumbull and practically the whole of Ashtabula County). Yet development continued in north central PA (Potter and Tioga Counties).

The SA aggravated Oil Glut / Oil price drop and of course political and legislative maneuvering could be the cause of the hole / cessation couldn't it ?

Seems like prices are beginning to rebound to me. Maybe so will E & P activity ?

What are your thoughts ?
No production - no news...
"reserves are there" Yes - reserves exist all over the world - one just needs to be able to extract economically, and I personally think that may be a long time from now for this area (hope I am wrong for everyone's sake). Technolgy will advance hopefully and this area will get developed. For me - too many unknowns, hidden agendas, corporate unscrupulousness, landowner beatdowns....on and on - I am not holding my breath. Think I will go into my own methane production - gotta go slop the hogs....
I guess we disagree (to a degree lol) because I think and have always thought that economical extraction technology exists for any resource it's just that some methods and geology are more economical to develop than others.

For how long will the Industry be able to sustain what it considers adequate production by developing only the lowest hanging fruit ? Here again trying to forsee the future when we ask ourselves that question and as I've written earlier, I don't think anyone can (except the folks in the catbird seats).
