I did not say one word about your land . I said that in Dimock where I own property, fifteen families have and their water ruined and yes it IS due to fracking. One person's well exploded. There was an 8000 gallon toxic spill. Cabot was fined by DEP but of course that does not stop the fracking. And the tired old line about how" unpatriotic" it is to have concerns about the environment. Give me a break ! I don;t care if you want to ruin your land but I do care when it impacts me, which it does. Who gave you the god given right to exploit the land at others expense? I would call that highly unpatriotic.

It is not unfounded fear in this case, my neighbors have poisoned wells! How can I put it more clearly! and so do many others in areas all across the country. The gas industry cannot just march into a populated area such as Northeast Pa and put in as many drill rigs as they want. Cabot told the people on Carter Rd that they would put up one well on 620 acres and would be gone in 3 weeks. Now there are dozens of wells in Dimock and many more permitted. I am not opposed to natural gas per se, I am opposed to international corporations running roughshod over a community of people who yes, need money but also need clean air and water. I need money too, I support myself but that does not mean I am willing to hand over my land to Halleburton or Chesapeake, or Range or any other of dozens of companies waiting to get the gas. Clean air and water are resources as much as energy is and they need to be safeguarded. I can assure you that is not happening in Dimock.

ps: you said my comments were " rife with inconsistancies" ( that's a cliche) but you failed to point them out. If you can show me data proving that hydrofracking is regulated by the federal Clean Air and Water Act, I will be happy to take back my words.

Sorry but I am not making this up. Hydrofracking does not fall under the auspices of the Federal Clean Air and Water Act because Dick Cheny had it exempted. Makes sense since he owns Halleburton. And sorry, known carcinogens are used in fracking. I have the list from the DEP. It includes benezene, tuolene, diesel derivatives and other biocides. These are all cancer causing substances that remain in used frack water. Whether you have them elsewhere in your home is a moot point. Even if they are used in .05 parts per gallon, when you figure that 4 million gallons of water are used to frack a well, the computes out to 20,000 gallons of toxins . Per well.
