Go to the above link, put in Gilmer, choose Marcellus for the target formation, and go back a few years. I found some.

Many leases don't list formations, some do. Always a good idea, like you said, to read your lease.

Yes, 5 an acre is tiny. I know further north like Ritchie around $3000 an acre is not unusual, in Clay district (northeast part of the county).

Tim,
Several Marcellus have been drilled in WV... One in Normantown in Gilmer. Their proposed lease admendment states Marcellus and Upper Devonian and addition of pooling/unitization. Not sure what going rates are as we have an atty and just currently submitted our revision to their lowball of $5/acre!
