Thanks John.. Do you know if this is in preparation locating new wells possibly? And do you know who is doing the seismic testing? I saw many trucks the other day in the Mansfield/Wellsboro area. And a bit of conversation concerning a new testing method. Couldn't really get much of an idea from the minute or so that I heard just what or where they were talking about. Only that Knoxville was mentioned and the difficulty of driving thru there because of the trees being blown down last week.

Yes, it is Shell, but the company who contacted us is Long Consulting out of Olean NY. The questionnaire stated it was a courtesy, so please fill out.
What is your permit number?
Any information on the process and time table will be appreciated.
was told at signing they are going to do over 300 sq miles in 6-8 twps of tioga co., this is to fine tune the mapping to 3-D for a better feel of the shale under the area. (depth and thickness) for the finish drilling rigs. a lot of the vertical wells are done. we signed lots in farmington and osceola twps. last month as did our neighbors.
they will be doing this by putting down blue wires by the mile in 320 foot spaced grids crisscrossed this was done a year or so in wells and jackson twps. in some of the rough steep areas the wire will be dropped by choppers and crews hike in to finish stringing the wire. the signing is mostly to get all the details of the property shown on the working maps (wells, septic, underground wires, fences, and the like.
Thank you Tom Brian. That is approximately an area 30 miles long by 10 miles wide. 320 foot grids! Looks like a major operation if what you say is correct! When do they plan on starting this operation?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
