Anschutz Energy has been locking up land leases in Carroll County like mad the last two years. They now have over 650 recorded as paid up leases that stretch from 3-5 years with options to renew for similar terms. The Marcellus depth and thickness charts show southern Carroll, western Jefferson, and northern Harrison lie on a 50 Ft. seam at 3000 Ft depth. These characteristics are almost identical to that in western Pa. ( Washington County) where Range Resources is cashing in. I would appreciate any info regarding Marcellus exploration in Ohio. The Landman insists that Anschutz is after 9000 Ft, Rose Run Oil in Carroll County (vertical wells) but I would like to be sure that horizontal ( Marcellus) drilling is not a factor.
