I want everyone to be aware of a pipeline company called Laser Midstream Company, LLC out of Montrose, PA. They want to run a pipline right through the center of our property in Great Bend Township in Susquahanna County PA. We told them we were not interested in the pipleline and I would like to share there response with everyone. It seem they are in the practice of using threats to get the land owners to work with them. I don't know who these people think they are and what makes them think they can do what ever they want?

Thanks for the message. I wanted to respond when I received it the other day, but I am just now getting to it, so I do apologize. I understand that you are not interested, but the fact is that the company is proceeding towards putting in a pipeline that is going to effect your property. I know that this is not what you want to hear, but I urge you to contact me, so that you will be able to have some input on it's location in relation to your property. I will continue to try and contact you after the holidays, and I hope you'll meet and discuss this with me.

I was wondering where your property is located in Great Bend?
The State will step in and give them right of way if you won't.. I mean you can go to court, and pay for a lawyer and fight them off, but you will lose eventually ($)... Something to do with "Eminent Domain" you can however negotiate for a lease price seperate from the gas Lease, and you can pick it's location, and you can nogotiate above ground below ground,, restoration once it no longer matters... I would contact a lawyers specialising in these type of leases...
I stand corrected, if it is a transmission line, then yes teh state may step in... but as a gathering line n. NO.. But please keep in mind, and to Ruby.. the US Supreme court ruled a few yeears ago ( remember that debacle) that property may be brought under the "emminent Domain" guise if it is deemed economically beneficial to the general public.. Guy lost his houes because it was in the way of a mall..
Please don't misunderstand me, this is not to scare you, simply inform you of the extent that these people willgo to... so be prepared... lawyer advise first
There were two parts to that Supreme Court ruling. The first was as you described, tax revenue could be considered beneficial to the public good. The second was that it was really a STATES issue. Pennsylvania then passed eminent domain legislation explicitly banning the practice of taking private property and transferring it to another private individual. I won't doubt yo uon Pennsylvania, byut I am not sure that teh same rule applies to NY, WV, and OHio...
