Youngstown Ohio Utica and Natural Gas (YOUNG) Conference and Expo - Standing Room Only.

I applaud the Chamber for stepping up.   I have felt the media has been a couple steps behind over the last year - finally it seems the area is awaking to what most of us became aware of over a year or more ago.

And by the way- last I had heard, the protesters had not yet arrived.  I guess they are not early risers.

And more.... as a professional who was born and raised in this general area, educated elsewhere and returned to the area immediately after to establish a career- the past 20 years of listening to the gloom and doom and lamenting of what was "never coming back" has been depressing.  Yet despite listening to this for years, many many people have chosen to make their homes and establish their businesses here.    I am thrilled for our area.  Beyond thrilled to watch an area that hasn't fared well while the rest of the country boomed, to have this incredible opportunity despite the recession.    As I heard this morning on the radio - very few regions have the opportunity to take advantage of a natural resource boom twice across history.  Our location and our resources provided the steel boom decades ago- we have a huge second chance here.   Let's do it better this time.
