Hey Billy,

I got your voice message.

Yes, we are having our meeting this Thursday at Tri Valley HS, 7-9 PM. Our group is still accepting new members so yes the public is invited. Technically our group is centered in the Southwest Coshocton and NW Muskingum Counties, but if you are close then you would be eligible to join. We hope to explain all this at the meeting, so hope you can attend.

Thanks

Jere

There is an info/organizational meeting 2/20/2012 at the Highwater Congregational Church at 6:30 pm.

Dan Plumly, of Critchfield Chritchfield and Johnston(Wooster), has been invited to speak and possibly help form this group. He has helped formed quite a few land groups in Ohio. I am just passing on the info. I do know the church is north of Fredonia and turn left on Dutch Lane.

Licking County Landowner

Update on Monday nites meeting of licking County landowner. The law firm Critchfield,Critchfield &Johnson was present with Daniel Plumly speaking. Very layed back lot of good info, their fee is $125.00 per acre. You sign up with a questionnaire with no obligation you can drop out at anytime.  C,C&J have offices in Wooster,Media, millersburg and Mt. Vernon they are well know for their lawyers in the oil gas knowledge. for info contact Clinton Bailey at the Mt. Vernon office 740 397-4040 or bailey@ccj.com

Ok thankee for the info about that group that appears to be forming. This Licking/Muskingum County Group is telling whats out there, We are not endorsing or promoting any group.

Correction The group was started by landowners in Northern Licking County but it is for the whole county if someone would like to have a CCJ meeting just get ahold of them, this needs to GROW.Clinton Bailey at the Mt. Vernon office 740 397-4040 or bailey@ccj.com

Here is the groups they help

CCJ represents landowners in several counties. We have landowner “groups” that we refer to internally as the Killbuck Valley Landowner Group, the Northeastern Wayne County Landowner Group, the Farmerstown Landowner Group, the P & P Landowner Group (in Knox Co), and the Northeastern Knox County Landowner Group. We also represent numerous landowners in Coshocton and Licking Counties.

Thanks David for the information. Please remember folks this is only information about a group we are not promoting any particular Landowners Group over another they will stand upon their own merits.

If anyone has information of a Landowners Group meeting we want to know about it.

I suggest you ask the people there this question. It could be the plan of some people that allow the drilling on their land to simply move to another area especially if a problem ever occurs where the water is in fact polluted. Not to mention that some of these people who are even considering to allow probably won't enjoy the comments they receive if they are ever seen out in public. But then again like I said it is not even known yet if some of the landowners who might be considering to allow the drilling might not even live in this area.It is my hope that if this is true that the owners of the land would at least consider to sell the land to people that live in this area who are against fracking. Here is what some of the people living in the New York area think about it.http://www.mnn.com/local-reports/new-york/local-blog/fracking-the-g...
  • What are these anti frackers up to? http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2012/02/occupy_well_stre...
A fine article here. may I ask why raising money for bail would be necessary, if you were not breaking the law no bail would be required!
A radical group rather should scare the public as to question how far these radicals would go? Do you recall anti putting spikes into trees to prevent the cutting of trees? Sabotage upon private property that has been linked to radicals. Destruction of private property as well.

In Pittsburgh, five protesters were arrested outside of the Halliburton-sponsored Developing Unconventional Gas East conference. The arrests followed a dancing flash mob that meandered its way from various conference participants' hotel lobbies and an angry march that took to the streets without a permit and united anti-fracking organizers with Occupy Pittsburgh-ers. These are the FIRST direct action arrests in the United States in the fight against fracking. It's been a long time coming, but we've finally reached a milestone that hopefully will become contagious!

I attended the meeting tonight. Very good upon the facilities, I kept wondering if I hit that red button at our desk if I'd start a nuclear war though! lol But the meeting had a very good crowd in attendance a good turn out.

Once again the drawback was time. The presentation I think should have been in better had they put more information about the Utica Shale as that is the primary focus in the area at least to our knowledge, I say this as there are more than one formation possible such as even the Rose Run.

A question was asked about water and what if a drought was occurring. The answer should have been as any any area that is going through  drought local water restrictions would take place. We have seen such  in the area such as lawn watering being restricted or car washing prohibited so  that issue although a possibility would rather be dictated as to the community need over fracking.

I asked three questions for the panel.

 1.  If was a CEO and I asked you what you would estimate a well in this are might be able to produce based upon the knowledge so far gained what would be your estimate?

  Answer was we don't know.

2. With recent land values going from $50/acre  at 12.5% jumping to $5000/acre and 20% what would think the price may go to in the are?

Answer Difficult to say, it would depends upon what happens when the drilling starts to tell the story.

 3. If you had no connection with the O&G Industry just a farmer with 100 acres would you allow them to drill?

Answer was two said YES the other said No. Perhap s I should have asked if you were just a farmer with no O&G connections with limited income (the one who said no is a professor) and had college age children what would be the answer? After the meeting I chatted with him and I straightened out the question to get a view point upon the financial decision he basically said that would be  more or less a question each would have to ask themselves.

MY MAIN COMPLAINT the attendees could have really made it a whole day event if they were allowed . Once questions flow they lead to other questions. In a friendly setting it would be fun.

I'll say thanks to Denison for hosting the event and would like to see them at the third meeting perhaps call upon the Ohio Attorney General Office to attend and brief the attendees upon what the OAG might be considering in O&G legislation.
