Does anyone know anything about Oil/Gas Co. wanting to buy water from Landowners? A Well supposedly needs 3-5 million gallons of water, where do they get the water from? Our property has a Creek and Springs on it with plenty of water flowing for nine months out of the year. RUMOR has it, they are paying anywhere from $.50 to a $1.00 a gallon.

Permalink Reply by john ginkel on February 24, 2012 at 1:21pm There are a few places selling water in Pa and the going rate is $2 to $6 per 1000 gallons, depending on quality.
Permalink Reply by Frank C on February 24, 2012 at 1:28pm The two numbers I have heard are $0.15 and $0.17 per gallon. Also Jefferson County Ohio commissioners on Thursday made a deal with Chesepeake, $7.50 per 1,000 gallons of water.
