I have been in discussion with the above named oil company regarding leasing gas/oil rights for my property in Westland Township, Guernsey County.  They have an office in Cambridge.  Does anyone have any experience with them?  Any opinions about the company or their leases?

I don't know that I have ever used it Billy... So I can't answer that. lol.  Normally my calculations come out pretty close, but as Michael pointed out, I forgot a zero when I posted initially, so perhaps I should look into the calculator to avoid typos?  And even if the calculator does give you the final numbers, some people (myself included) like to know what drives the numbers, so sometimes showing a verbal representation gives a better understanding than just the numbers.  I know I like to know the how & why that leads up to the final result...

Yes, Nelson is basically right, except I would calculate my acreage share of the total monthly production first and then take my royalty x that amount.  Only because, depending on who is in the unit, some landowners may have different royalty amount based on the lease they signed.

Thanks Michael, guess I forgot one of the 0's.  My math skills honestly are better than that.  lol

very true!

Nelson,

Please check your math in paragraph #2. $200,000 X .10 = $20,000 vs $2,000. If I'm correct, big change in payout!

Thanks Blu, Michael already caught that one for me though.

And you thought no one paid any attention to your posts!!!

lol.  I guess occassionally someone does... at least when they are in error.

Thank you for all the information.

I am being offered 20% now.   Does anyone know if the up front amount per acre is still hanging around $5,000 per?

I am going to ask for more.

I can try to get you a better deal if you can get his attention

I think is the same person who I try to contact for the longest. He does not have the time to pay my bill or to return my calls. Please if you know AMARADO OIL - David Dashner have him call me. 832-775-6084

I would think the 1020 acreas if drilled with long horizontals should produce more than the 640 acres. Just my thoughts.  Actually, if fracked equally, probably a wash if royalties are the same for each.  A 1% increase in your royalty really impacts what you are paid.  Wait for at least 20%.
