Check out a couple of the comments from below that artical. WOW are they out there............

My property has 2 NG lines, one oil gathering line, 3 fiber optic lines, power lines, and a state highway through it.

 If we all thought like that person, we would still be eating paw paw's and drinking out of mud puddles to survive. And heating our houses with.......... OMG I can't beleive I'm saying this....... COAL, what a dirty word these days.

 WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please stop the fear mongering! I challenge you to provide the readers here with scientific evidence that fracking causes earth quakes. Scientific not "Almost certain" "Perhaps" "Likely" " Believed" "Thought to" " Maybe" in the article.
Your right deeper instead, in that, the fracturing taking place at 2700' from the main water source it is now about a mile through solid rock below that water supply thus inherently safer! You also forgot to tell the readers that fracturing is now in the process of using biodegradable citrus based mixtures and even using propane.
As to the economics drilling brings considerable wealth to a communities in employment but in the wealth of landowners also.
Yes overseas investors are investing it is way to bad people like yourself instead of trying to help America by investing in America tries to destroy a resource that is clean, plentiful, and profitable for Americans!

NY is in the process of allowing fracking by Propane. When it comes to a pipeline just about evey home in town has a gas line in the front yard! Yes you can sell a property with a pipeline through it, it happens every day in America! Mortgage Bankers? I doubt if any one with say 50 acres bought their property for the amount that a lease bonus might pay the property owner let alone royalty to go with it. Try 50 acres at $5,500 /acre is $275,000 probably more than enough to tell a bank your paid off!
