Does anybody know what the projection is for Jefferson County?

Katie:  the progress on our unit in Jefferson County has been going non-stop, with several well-heads.  Chesapeake needs to show some positive numbers very soon; I believe they are focusing on where they think it's profitable.  Do you have property in Jefferson County?  If so, care to share where?  Thanks.

Cam, we do have land in Jefferson County.  I do not know the coordinances are but we are on both sides of old 22 down the hill from Wintersville.  It is old family land and we now live in Texas.  It is frustrating to be so far away and not know what is going on in the area!

Katie:  have you leased any of your rights at this point?

CAM

Yes the rights are leased, unfortunately it seems for all the recent news of sell offs, to Chesapeake.  We wanted to go with XTO, signed the papers sent them in and then they withdrew their offer.  We had already had a bad experience with Chesapeake here in TX and did not want to use them.  Right after we gave in and signed with Chesapeake, Hess contacted us.  They are probably all about the same anyhow.

Has any of your land been placed into a unit yet?  My two brothers have land which may be located close to your property.  We follow what's happening thru a number of contacts.  One brother lives in the area so is close to several sources...I follow more closely because I'm part of a unit.  I live 3 hours from the area but visited recently.  I can help walk you thru the current data on the Ohio Department of Natural Resources site which would give some detailed information if you'd like.

If we are in a unit I am not aware of it.  I know that they were planning to put one together, but we have received nothing but the check since we signed.  I check the ODNR every week for check if they have issued a permit, but I do not know any of the detail in the way of lot or section #s.  I can tell by looking at the ODNR locations map that they have not drilled on property.

I'd like to think Harrison County has close to the best deposits just because so many people laughed when we moved here some years back. And because this area of Ohio is fairly downtrodden. "Harrison county? Where the heck is that?" Well, the less people that know, the better, but some perks to our economic situation would be nice. Some perks to some of my large landowner friends who got taken in by landmen ("Oh you'll never see an offer better than $150 an acre, on my mama's grave you won't!") would also be nice. After having received several "secret" cash offers we were "not allowed to discuss with anyone" for our mineral rights, as well as many non-secret-agent type offers, I wonder just what is under us. An ancient city made entirely of gold?  Or nothing worth having, which is why we could afford this land in the first place :/

I live in southern Ashtabula county and my neighbor, who headed up our group, was told by a couple different oil & gas companies that they think we are sitting on the largest pocket of crude in the surrounding area. They also told him that we are sitting on a large area of wet gas among other gases. I hope all of this is true. If so, I see some large royalty checks being handed out....

Good Luck to all !!

I have to believe it is all under the ghetto lands of Youngstown.  These lands for decades have had organic deposits of bodies and fighting dog carcasses on these grounds enriching the Utica.

If you have enough body oil down there it may sell as bio-oil, at a premium.

Based on Consol's reported results, and the maps drawn by the big drillers, I think parts of Tuscarawas could be big.  The drillers are dealing with HBP roadblocks.
