The Chevrolet Volt concept car was unveiled at the January 2007 North American International Auto Show, becoming the first-ever series plug-in hybrid concept car shown by a major manufacturer.

The production design model officially unveiled on September 16, 2008, as part of General Motors centennial celebration at the Wintergarden headquarters in Detroit.[25] The production model differed greatly in design from the original concept car.

GM and the Chevy Volt turned up three “7s” on the Congressional slot machine. First, automakers got the $25 billion in low interest government loans. Second, the Wall Street bailout will likely help the beleaguered auto industry. Third, plug-in tax credits have now been signed into law.

The now passed by the House and signed by Bush $700 Billion Wall Street bailout bill had a few congressional “sweeteners” in it to help get it passed after failing for the first time in the House earlier in the week.

Don't blame O'Bama. You teabaggers should get this straight. It was Bush!

Elnathan you could say the same thing about Obama, lets hope president Romney can fix this mess Obama made.

Mr. Cory the chevy volt is a loser car, that the democrats kept alive with taxpayers dollars, shame on you for distorting the truth..

Same old, same old. What a bore. Let me help you with this again. No-body wants the car. It was bad then, it's worse now. It was given CPR about 5 times too many. Tile to pull the plug....

Obama had an opportunity, since he is so smart, to make thoughtfull changes to put the country in a better direction from day one and chose not too. It was intentional. For Votes. Votes. Votes.

There is an ole sayin, "As GM goes the country goes".  We are becoming the country of "Hand Outs", "Bail Outs", "Tax Credits", "Subsidies", "Grants", "Deductions" and all other forms of wealth redistribution thru taxation.  Washington is like the spinning paint machine that used to be at county fairs in the 60's and 70's before the day when things that stupid people could stick their hand in and get hurt had to be taken away to "protect" us.  Washington thows the money in and it all gets spun to the bottom and top and the middle gets sucked dry.

The real reason the auto industry got bailed out is the country never could have absorbed the workers pensions into the "we will still give you 50% of your pension thru the goverment program".  We would be bleeding out even quicker and longer.

Dan

You are exactly right. Its all about tax policies for big business. Its not for the American people ,or small business, or for the small farmer. They get very little benefit from these policies. Stop blaming just the democrates for these problems. Don't you think the pro businees right had a lot to do with those policies. Do you think the Oil and gas industry needs subsidies or tax credits? If you think not call you governer.

Bob,

I didn't say it was tax policy only involving big business.  All deductions, credits, subsidies and any incentives are used to control commerce.  Who gave the goverment that right?  That type of control is more important than any goverment office or body.  A majority should agree before any tax or credit is accesed other than "fair"income and sales taxes.  Period.  Everything else is manipulation.  If a fee or tax is agreed to accomplish a common goal than fine if the people want it.

And the beat goes on. 2+2=5. Two wrongs make a right. Nothing to see here, move along please.

So dolt..............do you drive a Volt? or are you a lackey who receives a free O'Bama phone courtesy of me? - the taxpayer.

Elnathan must be a lib from the cesspool we all call Jersey.

Elnathan or whatever your hooky liberal name is.

where do come off with your bias on this website. this is for people that paid taxes and sacrifice for property who never thought to be of value.hanging on to family property just barely or farming to get ahead. tell us how long you have had your property and how many acres and the taxes that keep coming. Then and only Then do you have a right to spew your liberal venom.

Hey guys-why does no one remember that Bush had a democratic house and senate the last two years of his presidency?   He tried to work with them for the good of the country, even when he did not agree with what they were doing.  I was pretty angry with Bush (not angry enough to vote for a democrat) but I've learned there was a far worse alternative out there.  We need control of the house and the senate if we're going to get this country back on the right track.
