Payment cancelled by Shell

Has anyone else had this happen? The title to my property had no deficits (according to the Cambridge Office). I called Amegy bank today to see when the check would be sent and I was told that it was “cancelled per land department directive”.

I called Shell in Cambridge and they have no idea what is going on. Any thoughts?

look for shell to continue to come up with excuses to hold paying bonus $$$ anyway possible. They have been telling people recently they will pay in 45 days. well. for some, that 45 days have come and gone.    again!

Is that on new drafts being issued? When was you suppose to be paid?

Most in guernsey county signed in October.  the 120 days came n went, then some resigned for another 45 days, n that has now come n went.  why drill one well to hold ascreage by production when you can do it by recording leases n keep coming up with excuses n promises for a year or so? I, for one of many, have gotten released n will be signing on with a O&G co. that pays as promised!

next round of leasing isnt far away IMHO. O&G co.s will be needing to fill in their potential drlling units. If you are close to one of them,where the driller is about to apply for a permit, you may be able to get signed up now. whatever the case, you wont be able to sign with anyone until you get your Shell lease released @ the recorders office. takes about 10 days!

Yes, the guy at Holland told me that if I did not have anything in 6 weeks to call him and he would check into it. He even went so far to tell me it would be direct deposit, that Shell released the money at the end of the day on Wednesdays and to check on Fridays to see if it had been depoistied.

i recieved a certified letter today from Amegy Bank with my bank draft saying that it was returned unpaid for tiltle and currative issues, well i had just talked to Holland 2 days prior and they stated they havent even got to my title yet! So i called Holland back and they said it was an error that they are not supposed to be putting that on the returned drafts! and the protocol now is they will be sending us a letter asking if we want to stay on with them and if we do, they will search the title first and then once its cleared then they will re-do the original lease then issue a 45 day bank draft! we are part of the original coalition as they call us!! i have 5.010 acres in Madison twnp Guernsey County< so what ya all think??

Coalition or not, at this point people are not getting paid for many random reasons.  Even after this new "45" day draft.  People seriously need to consider some other viable options besides Shell.  Numerous players in town these days. It's getting down to the nitty gritty.  The new KWGD signing is only looking at 20 acres or more of contiguous acres.  People with less than 20 acres who signed with Shell or anyone else, and haven't got their money, and have been lied to numerous times should seriously evaluate if these are people you want to conduct business with and look at some other options.  Folks its almost been a year (October 2011.) If they wanted your land bad enough they would have paid you by now.  Congestion at the Recorders office or not, its been almost a year.  Think about it.  Any thoughts?

How much you wanna bet,after these new 45 day drafts expire,they will come up with a whole new set of excuses about why they cant pay up!  Why hold acreage by production, when they can hold it by recording leases, and just not paying?     Bout evertyone will eventially get leasesd when they get together to horsetrade leases, and put together their drilling units. might as well get your lease released now, so you can sign up with the company that will be actually doing the drilling, and draining the oil&gas under your property.

My friend received a letter like that.  Said Shell cancelled his lease and memorandum.  Not much information in the letter.  Wondering if it will be the same lease?  Sounds like they will start the five year period over?  I guess he just lost 9 months of time waiting for payment just to start over again.  Many questions.....
