How do you find out which direction the horizontal laterals go by ODNR permits or the engineer reports? I have looked into this and cant seem to find the answer.

Hi,
Even numbers from all the wells I've seen on report in Ohio go SW all odd numbers go NW. 1H has an example will be a NW.

OK thanks guys. I was looking at permits that did not have the plat maps posted yet on the site. So I guess the even and odd numbers are a good indication of direction then.

Do you mean SE instead of SW. I have not seen any laterals running in a SW direction

Yes. Sorry. 8h would be SE

Kathleen

Interesting.  Thanks

Here where I am in PA, with eight wells on a pad, 1H, 2H, 3H, and 4H all head NW.  The remaining four wells all head SE.

Does anyone know with respect to the "wet Gas zone" in the Utica in eastern OH - roughly, to what degree NW to SE do the laterals run?  Imagine the face of a clock, with 12 oclock being due north.  Do they run from 10 oclock to 4 oclock?  11 oclock to 5 oclock?  something else?
