I have about 6 months on an old lease in Harrison county and I'm investigating what companies are currently leasing. I have info/contact names on Chesapeake, Gulfport and BP. Are there other companies currently leasing and if so could anyone provide contact names and phone numbers?

We are in the same situation. Could you pass along the contact name & number for BP? I have Gulfport's. We were in negotiations with Chesapeake, and they called today to let us know we have been dropped. (for now)! That includes our neighbors, 5 families with a combined acreage of over 450 acres. Thanks!
For BP it is trumbull.ohio@bp.com or 330-787-4985. Gunter Land Services is their agent. I have a phone call in and an email but have not had contact yet. This is from BP advertising that they are aquiring land in our area. On Chesapeake, that seems odd as they called me a few days ago to start the leasing process.
Mark, all 5 landowners (our neighbors) were contacted at the same time out of the blue by Chesapeake. We had a meeting, and the landman had his contracts in hand for us to review. This was our first preliminary meeting and general discussion. This was last Thursday night. By Weds morning of this week, we were called and notified they were cancelling the contracts.( We didnt even finish reading them yet) . I was surprised at the rejection, as we are SO close to the Wagner #1 well. The highest producing well to date.
Thanks for the phone number for BP.
P.I.,
Who are you leased with now? Are you sure that they aren't planning to drill or reassign your lease to someone who will drill before the 6 months is up? Maybe that's what scared Chesapeake away from dealing with you directly. Are the neighbors you mentioned also leased for another 6 months?
wow! not many comments? Has everything stopped since Chesapeake laid off all their landmen in Harrison Co. on 5/31/12? Be careful of lease flippers. They are still here!
bp contacted me a couple weeks ago.. 3750/ acre and 16%
hess offered 5200 acre and 18.75%, but i was supposed to be partially unitized.
I hear chevron is leasing in harrison as well, but didnt talk to them personally
Hammer,
Which township are you in? I have a family friend in the same boat and i'm trying to help them out. The Hess offer is more of what they are looking for. Thanks
franklin township.
they are putting together the unit on plum run rd, Mccauley unit. I dont think they are aquiring acreage for that number unless the landowner is needed for the unit.
i think im going to wait until a unit is being put together so I dont get flipped to someone else.
Chevron is drilling up there and talked to that guy, seemed like a professional not a flipper
Hi,
I am very new to this and I'm doing lots of research on the contracts, leases, etc. What does a "flipper" mean?
Thanks,
Lisa

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
