It seems more evident now that the sweetest spot of the utica. the spot with the most production The most profitable. the best mix of 75% ligiuds,25% dry gas,  M/L. is gonna be southwestern Harrison county/ northeastern Guernsey co. OHIO. anyone got any proof to the contrary?

And you as well Nancy.  You are very welcome.

Three major transport pipelines cross under Carroll County. That is why the drilling started there. Chesapeake could drill and start making money right away as the infastructure was there to get it out. You just had to run the pipeline from the well to the established infastructure.

Excuse me, not Chesapeake, but Rex Energy got the drilling started in Carroll County. Chesapeake does have a presence in Carroll, but not as large as Rex had.

Sorry, wishing well, but you are incorrect. As much as I am on the side of Rex they were not here before CHK, not by a long shot. I know when they were invited to bid on a block and when they bought their first lease. CHK already had wells drilled by then. And total number of acres? CHK by far has more in the county. CHK is the gorilla in this county and they carry the big stick.

There are wells that have been drilled and are being drilled around Amsterdam, Richmond and the Knoxville area. Not sure if any are in production yet.

Gary, thank you for your response.  That is a little encouraging, but I just wonder why there is so much going on in all the surrounding counties and very little in Jefferson.  My property is 7 miles from Harrison County, 11 miles from Carroll County, 14 miles from Columbiana County and 14 miles from Belmont which are all touted as being part of the "sweet spot" and Jefferson County which is right in the middle of it all is never mentioned.  I am starting to feel like the step child.  LOL  Hopefully, they are saving the best for last!

Katie,

At this time the majority of Jefferson county is widely considered to be in the "dry" gas window. I know of only two utica wells that they have announced production results from jeff county. One was Chk,all dry gas and another from Cnx also all dry gas (both very good dry gas wells). Until nat gas prices rebound don't think there will be too much development in the dry gas window of utica. Hopefully prices rebound sooner than later. Hope this helps

Thank you for your response.  Not exactly the answer I wanted to hear, but it is an answer and I do appreciate it!

Thank you Jonathan !  Now I know why .....

Braggart!  Gotta rub it in huh?  No seriously, I am very happy for you.  Congratulations! Tell them when they are through with you to move 15-20 miles south to my place.

I was just wondering if anyone heard of any good news for Stark County?????  CHK came in hot and heavy in 2010 leasing everything up and like Jefferson County we don't hear from them?

doesn't the Shugert 1-1#   move the sweet spot to the east more than first thought ?

This should be good news for eastern twp's of Belmont .
