For anyone interested, I have attached the Halterlein Well Plats from Mercer Township, Butler County. It looks like 11 wells from the same pad.
5 horizontals headed northwest, and 6 horizontals headed southeast.

I did notice the 8-9 wells permitted by XTO for AK steel also had other letter designations. AK is right close to XTO's processing plant - might be one to keep an eye on.

They have 400-1200 acre units. From their reports it's about 80 acres per well. I think it depends on wet/dry make-up of gas. Dry gas seems to have longer laterals and more wells per pad.
Permalink Reply by John on July 30, 2013 at 1:11am It looks like they are getting ready to drill here again. they have run that big temporary water line back to the sight that they just gathered up a few months ago. it is probably a 10" line that goes about 3/4 mile so they must be seeing some good results.
