Does anyone know the Parcel Number for the Parker Township HYMAN well site by Chevron.

Chevron doesn't have a well under that name in Butler County, or anywhere in PA. They do have a well named Hindman in Washington Township, Butler County. Could it be this well you are referring to? Here is a link to an alphabetical list of all of Chevron's sites in Pennsylvania.

Thank you, I heard the word through the phone and simply inferred the incorrect spelling.

Regards, Rob

The Hindman Well is 3/4 of a mile west of the Parker Township line on parcel 310-1F114-A11 in Washington Township.

My guess is the Nicodemus Unit will be just southeast of the Hindman Unit. Is that what was being discussed on the phone Rob?

The Nicodemus and Leonhard access roads and pad areas were cut of trees by March 31st. No more work has been done that I can see since then.  The Chevron PR person, stated that they plan to build the Nicodemus pad this summer, but won't drill on it till next summer. But, being a PR person, maybe he don't know the drill schedule.

The hindman well has been flaring since April 1st.

Thanks for the information Geo, you really get around don't you! I like to keep up with all well activity in northern & central Butler County.

I live in Washington twp.  I even have some property that boarders the Hindman Unit,, although, I am leased with Shell.

Oliver, if I remember right, you own property in northern butler, but live out of the area?

Geo,

As an apparent relative newcomer to the site, I'm surprised you knew that, but you are correct. I certainly welcome you bringing your local knowledge & information to the Butler County Group, and look forward to reading your future posts.

Were you previously registered to the site under a different user-name?

I have been a member for almost two years.  I just shortened my name and had the nerve to post.  I have enjoyed your posts Oliver, especially the well platts, i thought it was about time i gave some back.

Geo,

You have been a member longer than I have, I joined the beginning of Feb. 2012. I post the well plats to try and keep this county site active and maybe stimulate other discussions.

I like reading about progress at all the Butler County well sites, but particularly Shell owned because I am in their territory. Unfortunately Shell's style is rather slow in developing their lease hold, especially compared to XTO.

I do appreciate you sharing the information you have. That's what this site is all about. It's not easy for some of us to drive past the site to see what is happening.

Oliver,

What do you think -Does a unit need to be declared before a well is placed?  Can they add acres to a unit after the well is in place?  I have been wondering what the smallest unit a company can put together.

cheliped,

I think a unit is declared right before, or shortly after the drilling starts, though I'm not sure of the exact timing. I do know the units can be added to, or subtracted from, at any time the operator sees fit. I don't know the smallest unit possible with a horizontal well, but there are some in Ohio at about 90 acres. But I don't think Shell would ever have a unit nearly that small in Butler county, at least they haven't as of yet.
