Go to this website, the WV Office of Oil and Gas, Weekly Reports. This week has 2 permits for Marshall County.

You can go back and see earlier ones. 

You can go here

https://apps.dep.wv.gov/oog/permitsearch_new.cfm

and choose Marshall County, and some recent dates, to see what has been permitted. 

You can go here

https://apps.dep.wv.gov/oog/wellsearch_new.cfm

and see what has been drilled, or plugged, also choosing Marshall and whatever dates you want.

When you have a permit number (API number) you can go here

http://tagis.dep.wv.gov/oog/

and put the API number into the attribute search and see where it maps. This allows you to see where these are. You can also choose Marshall county and some recent dates and see the horizontal wells. 

If you want to get notified by email when a new permit is issued for your county, go here

http://www.dep.wv.gov/insidedep/Pages/DEPMailingLists.aspx

and go about half way down the page, to see the box to sign up. You create a free account, choose which counties you want to be notified about, and on a regular basis you will get an email with information about a well permitted and a link to the map site I linked to above. 

Finally, subscribe to the local newspaper. The companies are required to put in a notice for 3 weeks when they are proposing a well location. It will give location in a E and N form, and you can go here

and put those numbers in, and it will map where it is. This is for people to make comments on the permits. 

It is a lot to look at but will give you a lot of information.

Thank you so very much!! I can't tell you just HOW MUCH I appreciate you posting all this information!! I would have never found it otherwise. And u can't have too much information.. The more I know the better it is. And looking up the wells is quite interesting.
I don't see anything on the horizon concerning the Williams Energy Chevron plant..but from what I can tell,they have a ways to go before they get that facility finished, up and running. That place is going to be huge. I've not seen another compression plant anywhere near that size.
So far, they seem to be good neighbors. They bus their employees which cuts down tremendously on the truck traffic. I can't imagine living next to a facility like the ones we saw in Texas!!

Exactly where is the Williams new compression plant in Marshall County?

Hi Rebecca...
It's about 4 or 5 miles outside of Moundsville on Fork Ridge. It's across the road from the first church on the ridge, the Oak Grove Church. As a matter if fact, Williams Energy has named this facility after the Oak Grove Church.
There is another compression plant on out the ridge. I thinks its Beelers Station" plant..? But when you look at the size of that completed facility compared to the Oak Grove plant ( mind you, not anywhere near completion) I think you will literally be amazed just to see the size of the place!
They are working around the clock over there and have been except on holidays and on Sundays not so much activity.
But I would like to say that even though this sounds a little crazy..even with all the noise that is constant, they seem to be a very good neighbor. That sounds strange for the most part and when it's fully completed I may slap myself for saying this.. But they are well organized, they seem like they will strive to be a good, although massive neighbor.
I urge you to check it out.. Don't worry about missing where it's located..you'll find it.. Trust me! :))
