This link is just a background piece on the Dominion Natrium site, its location and what it does in case anyone has forgotten.   Natrium only started processing in June 2013.

Current info on the fire plus pic.  Notice Dominion is not really making any comments.

Here is a 48 second VIDEO on youtube of the fire at the Natrium site;  it was taken from Clarington, Ohio by the BP gas station.  The green bar that shows on the left of the screen is part of the gas station lighting.

These article contains comments by the people living beside the Natrium plant.

I usually refrain from making comments on the various articles I post.  However, if there is a troll on here working for Dominion/Blue Racer please pay attention.

Were your employees paying attention to their computers and gages on Friday evening?  What emergency plans do you have in place for the Village of Clarington, Ohio?  No the fire probably won't cross the river, BUT the air with smoke and lack of oxygen can.     Also did you notify anyone to stop the barge traffic on the Ohio River that might have been in the vicinity?  Some of the barges on the Ohio River do carry flammable and explosive materials.  Do you--Dominion and Emergency Services--have regional responses in place regarding O&G emergencies?

DO NOT think this is an anti O&G post.  It isn't.  The Ohio Valley is changing and I want decision makers in both the public and private sectors to engage in plenty of discussions/planning sessions about how the O&G industry and residents are going to coexist.  Remember the best defense is a good offense!!

Status of investigation into Natrium explosion.  Officials still do not know which type of gas exploded.

Brief article on the status of the Natrium plantl

Also if you have a Facebook account check the Monroe County Emergency Management page where seven pics of the fire are posted;  they appear to be taken from the Ohio side of the Ohio River

Four months later it appears Natrium's Blue Racer plant appears to be preparing to reopen.

Sirens tested.   From article apparently company is recognizing that the safety concerns cannot be confined to just WV and are beginning to consider Clarington in Monroe Co. Ohio.   Now is Monroe Co emergency planners factoring the Natrium Blue Racer site into their preparedness plan?

I doubt that they have the resources, money and manpower.  It takes a long time to develop and implement protocol and training of staff.
