Anyone being approached by Scout Petroleum?

We just received a generic letter from Scout Petroleum saying they are interested in purchasing all or a portion of our oil, gas and mineral rights?  What do you all think about selling vs. leasing and does anyone have any experience with these people?

What state, county, and township are you in? How much acreage do you have?  All considerations in your decision.

We are in Tioga County, Westfield Township, Pennsylvania.  We have a little more than 90 acres

Thanks - never heard of Scout so cannot provide any insight.  In terms of selling v. leasing, you should be able to find loads of information on this within GMS...do a simple search. Much will depend on your short term v. long term needs.

Hi Barb,  I just received the same letter.  I am a landowner in Brookfield township.  50 acres and my Shell lease ran out last year.

 

Have you had anyone else respond with Scout info or have you learned anything new?  Thanks,  Roger

Hi Roger,

They offered a couple of hundred an acre but we declined.  Sorry but I don't know anything more to tell you at this time.

If that is the offer to buy - they are a bit short.  I've had bigger lease offers with Shell recently.
