I inherited Oil and Gas Rights without the surface but there is a question as to whether I own the "Deeded Mineral Rights". It would take time and money to figure this out so my question is:
Is the "Mineral" portion important to own If you have the OIl and Gas Rights? Will anyone ever mine the minerals?

Besides future Gas/Oil/Coal/Anything else: Sooner or later the County auditors will begin to tax the separate severed mineral rights and send real estate tax bills to severed mineral owners.
If you don't pay, they might foreclose on you and you'll lose them to a tax foreclosure.
County auditors are waking up to this potentially lush resource of tax receipts.
