Is anyone in the group knowledgeable about current events, particularly near Overbrook Road?  What type of unitization is in process for what well?

Hi Tom,

Ferree is located in Middlesex about a mile  off rt8 on the left 228 east towards Saxonburgh.

I posted the plats a while back in this very thread. lol   They are on about page 9 if my scroll back is correct. 6 wells - 2 Burkett have been permitted.

Cheers

WOW.....Rex ain't wastin no time on the Ferree pad....

Hauling a rig in right at this moment.

Still movin a lotta dirt over there but the road and the pad must be complete.

Kennedy pipeline has started, going West at the moment. Couple load of pipe sitting there ...looks to be at least 12" maybe larger.  Reno to Ferrre has been staked out about every 10 ft, Aint gonna be long there.

Cheers

Rig up! Ferree pad.

FMV,

I'll be driving by there this morning.  Can you tell if it is a double or a triple?

Regards,

Phil

Phil, I would not know the difference between a double or a triple or a box of rocks!  LOL

The DEP report shows that they have "spuded" 4 wells on the Ferre pad.

That rig has been there 9-10 days. Could they have drilled or started drilling 4 wells already?

FMV,

I've had some recent dealings with Joe Penska from Rex.  I was surprised when the big rig showed up since I did not think that the wells were spuded.  Joe told me that in fact they were spuded by a small rig that I did not even notice was there.

So, the wells were spuded before the big guy came in.

From the road that looks like a triple rig.  Handles three connected standard drilling pipe sections at a time.  The smaller rigs handle just two at a time.

Phil

Thanks Phil,

Come to think of it I may have seen the small rig, just thought it was a crane.

If they have spuded 4, I am assuming they will drill all 4 while the rig is there.

One of them is a Burkett and I believe they are quite interested in the Burkett.

Cheers

Are you aware of what the Anti-Frackers are up to in Middlesex and Adams Township?  The MOB group (Marcellus Outreach Butler) is going to all the township meetings and demanding that the supervisors shut down the Geyer well.  They are trying to use zoning against the well and are wanting the supervisors to rule that there must be a 2-mile set back from any school for any well.  These people are very organized and LOUD.  They are trying to shut down any drilling in the Mars School District.  Now that they got the Mars School Board to vote against signing a gas lease with Rex you can expect your taxes to go up.  Mars School district is heavily in debt.

We, the landowners, need to get better organized.  I am not sure how but we need to fight these people. If you live in Middlesex & Adams Twp. let your supervisors know that you as a land owner have rights. I have written the Middlesex Twp. supervisors a letter stating that they need to support the land owners and lease holders.

Jane-

Thank you for taking the time to post an update on what is going on in the townships. Would you please clarify "They are trying to shut down any drilling in the Mars School District"? Mars Area School District is large; does this relate only to the schools in Middlesex and Adams or the entire Mars Area School District? Also, "now they got the Mars School Board to vote against signing a gas lease with Rex you can expect your taxes to go up. Mars School district is heavily in debt"? Are you trying to say that the MASB based their decision solely on comments from the MOB group? The information about "expect your taxes to go up" does not appear to make sense; the 2014 millage rate estimate (school only) for Middlesex Township is 99 and Adams Township 99. This is lower than Jackson Township's 2014 estimate of 112.75. Jackson Township is where Seneca Valley School District is located and did they not sign a lease? No decrease seen yet in their school tax from 2013 to 2014. Hmm...

It seems to make sense, as a landowner, to pause and attempt to understand the reason why citizens within the communities are asking questions about the Geyer well before immediately jumping to conclusions. I will try to perform my own research to better understand and become educated about the Geyer well. I think there are some newspaper articles explaining that the focus is on the safety and health of the approximately 3,257 students (as of 1/2014) in the schools and that both the Industry and townships are encouraged to work together to evaluate what is best for the entire community now and for the future.

I went to the School Board meetings.  The only voices speaking are the anti-frackers and they are convinced the Geyer well will blow up.  They kept mentioning the well in West Virginia that caught fire.  I thought the school district decided rather quickly to say no, within 2 weeks.  The reason they gave was safety.  The MOB group wants a 2-mile perimater around any school, including Holy Sepulcher which probably could have shut down the Feree well if it had not already been permitted.   Middlesex township in Mars School district is where a number of of large PRD's are going in, in the price range that appeals to people with children.  I expect that there will need to be new schools built soon.  As too Seneca Valley, perhaps their taxes didn't go up as high as they could have due to lease money.  It doesn't make sense to me for the school district to have said no to a revenue stream when I believe they are 34M in debt.  If you listen to and read the anti-fracking rhetoric, their intent is to stop drilling, all drilling.  A 2-mile perimiater pretty much shuts down drilling.  They encourage outside people to come in and demonstrate at meetings.

As a landowner I would like to see royalties so that I can keep my land and also so I can afford to pay the taxes that I see rising in the near future.  I am within 2 miles of several schools. I am just saying that landowners need to start going to meetings and also speaking up at meetings.  When landowners speak up at these meetings they are ridiculed and booed so I believe most landowners are keeping quiet.  Our voices need to be heard also or we will lose our rights.

Good discussion Jane. Thank you!

"They are convinced the Geyer well will blow up." It is always interesting to see how each person interrupts a message. At the Middlesex and Adams Township meetings it did not appear that the individuals are convinced the Geyer well will blow up. It seems there is much more in their comments than "the Geyer well will blow up." The focus appears to be strongly on the safety and health of the approximately 3,257 students (as of 1/2014) in the schools and that both the Industry and townships are encouraged to work together to evaluate what is best for the entire community now and for the future.

"The reason they gave was safety." Interesting because the Mars Area School District sighted more reasons than just safety the night of the vote. What about their ability to obtain financing? Financing was a topic that the Mars Area School Board had discussed during their meeting. As a landowner, would there not be interest to investigate what the impact will be on the value of my property.

"The MOB group wants a 2-mile perimater around any school, including Holy Sepulcher." Please help me better understand because there appears to be no mention of Holy Sepulcher within the newspaper articles or at Middlesex or Adams Township meetings.

"If you listen to and read the anti-fracking rhetoric, their intent is to stop drilling, all drilling." Are you able to point me to the anti-fracking rhetoric you are referring to. As it specifically relates to Middlesex and Adams Township, it does not appear that anyone has said stop all drilling in the townships.

"They encourage outside people to come in and demonstrate at meetings." Are you saying that the people speaking are not from Middlesex and Adams Townships? When a landowner or citizen of Middlesex or Adams Township speaks at the meeting they have to state their name and address. The individuals speaking must be from the township unless the township is open to comment from individuals from a different township.

"A 2 mile perimiater pretty much shuts down drilling." Help me to better understand this comment. It seems that drilling would still occur in Middlesex Townshi; Kennedy Property, Ferree Property, Reno Property, and there is another potential in addition to the Geyer Property.

"I would like to see royalities." Now this is talking about the terms of the contract; was the royalty net or gross? How much tax will end up being paid on the royalties?

"Our voices need to be heard or we will lose our rights." As landowners, would our rights not be restricted by zoning in the townships?
