was told today buy a friend of mine that someone he knows is selling 40 acres of mineral rights in Harrison county (clendening lake area) for 15000 an acre for an old 12,5% lease. anyone heard offers like this?

could you explain your last reply a little more.

People are not buying mineral rights to give their money away. People are buying them to MAKE money. The odds of them making money are higher than losing, otherwise it's a gamble at best.

Bill, where is your land located and have you heard any offers that you know are legit?

Belmont county in the dry gas window $7500 with the worst lease possible, dry gas acres do not sell for as much as the OIL does.

Who is paying 23500/acre in the Harrison County area?

Mary, I think a lot of people are starting rumors of offers that are simply not happening yet. I started this discussion hoping to hear from people who had got offers directly quoted to them or someone they were close to and trusted.

I have not heard 23.5k per acre yet myself.
