Doesn't anyone have some advice?
Jeff , what is Water Impoundments ?
Water ponds used for fracking.
I'm new to this Site. I'm trying to learn all I can . This is the first time I have heard of " Water Impoundments " Are you saying if a property owner has a pond or a creek on their property , it could be a plus ?
Gas companies will build a pond on your property, fill it with water and withdraw the water for fracking as they need it.
Jeff, I'm not sure, but I believe most impoundment 'ponds' are usually built on one of the properties that belongs to the unit being drilled. In this case, you would already have a lease which probably states what they can and can not do on your property.
Possibly the water could be held on property separate from the unit being drilled, in which case your lease, if you have one, might kick in. If you don't have a lease or have one that doesn't allow water storage, etc, then i'm sure they would pay, how much? I have no idea.
Also, impoundment ponds are also used near the drill site for storing/reusing fraking fluids in some cases.
That's the best answers that i have.
Surely someone with more knowledge on the subject will reply.
