Several companies approaching us for leasing land in Marshall County.  I have not seen any new discussions on this website referring to any such activity.  Are there any active members with new information about leases?  I've heard that Chesapeake is back in the game.  Any truth or info would be appreciated.

Anyone been contaced by EP Energy?

Not familiar with EP Energy. Getting interest from Noble Energy, chevron
Seems like Marshall county is the new place to be
Chevron is trying to lease you're property ? You must be close to Cameron WV. I believe that is there area of interest.
Are they they trying to lease you're Marcellus or Utica,or both?

In the Meade District

Met with Chevron a few weeks ago, I was not impressed with the representation and did not feel the offer was set in stone.  Only verbal communication, no written lease.  Met with Noble as well, much more on the professionalism expected in the industry.  No mention of Utica.  Still entertaining offers, but not sure if there is any Real interest in the area, or is this all lip service.  Would like to get the finger on the pulse.  Anyone seeing any action in Marshall???....seems like they pulled out.

Are you kidding Melissa. You have the stacked plays with wet Devonian and marcellus which has a big value. And its probably a hot spot for quality Utica dry gas. Soon we should have results from a gastar well in Marshall and a magnum hunter and antero in Tyler. I think chevron had IP of 25 MMCF/d near Ohio river. I would hold tight until those results. I believe they will be good and your offers should reflect. Remember to keep in mind of all three plays. Any one of them could stand alone. Good luck

Thanks Jason, I'm not in the area anymore and feel like I can't get accurate information.  Just reading the Wheeling News Register blows this out of the water, as far as what is really happening in the valley.

Any other websites you can suggest to help me keep updated on this, I really appreciate.

there is a land group that was formed by gold Korey and turak for marshall county
they are asking 6% if you sign their lease but most of the bidding companies are paying the 6%-- the last offer I had was 4000 an acre @ 20% for the utica--waiting to see what the bidding goes up to before I lease--just outside of cameron

sounds interesting....esp. the part of the bidding companies paying the %.

Hi Pete you say 4 thousand an acre and twenty percent for just the Utica those are the kind of numbers I've have been waiting for.

Chevron offer - $3000

Noble offer - $3000

Fossil Creek - $4000

Keep in mind that Fossil Creek is Gulfport and they have had some dynamite results across the river in Ohio.  They also have paid some huge dollars to get what they want.
