Just curious...
I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

Hi - I looked at the link and that was the one thing I saw for Tioga County. But I also have been curious if there is any truth to the rumor, especially because these newer wells are very deep. I think there is a new Utica well about to be finished in the coming weeks. Wouldn't oil show up to some degree on the monthly state production reports?
I doubt there is oil in the Utica, in this area. What I do think is that there will be incredible amounts of gas coming out and these wells will be very profitable in Tioga, Potter, Cameron & Elk counties. Also in NY (Steuben, Chemung & Tioga), oh wait we cant drill it. Thanks Andy!!
Yes, oil production would show up in the reported production data and landowners' royalty statements. There hasn't been any oil production from the Utica up there - if there had been, the nearby oil refineries would be seeing the oil. This story has been going around since the first Utica well was drilled in Tioga County, and there seems to be no way to kill it.
The problem is not in finding gas/NGLs/oil; it's in finding more customers. What I'm curious about is where TC fits into Shell's plans. Will it be their US version of the Groningen gas field?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
