Question about Hilcorp's Central Facility/Compressor Station

There has been an ongoing dispute in Pulaski Twp., PA regarding what Hilcorp terms their "central facility" versus what some think is actually a compressor station being disguised using different terms. Hilcorp has described the central facility as the place where a dehydrator removes water from the natural gas then compressors and fans cool the fans. Is that different than the function of and equipment used in a compressor station? There are some (mostly anti-fracking activists) who believe that Hilcorp is lying to the community by using the term central facility. Can someone help me understand the difference between the two?

You are wrong. The Zoning Ordinance and Noise Ordinance are two different ordinances, the noise ordinance is not part of the zoning ordinance.

The noise ord is a separate ord yes You are right.. But the zoning ord deals with noise too. So they are interlocked as was until they rescinded. Now Pulaski just has a clause in their zoning ord to cover noise. It does not state legal business there or DB levels.Now It leaves it to to the officer

Is this the facility that Hilcorp agreed to build walls around it to deaden the sound? If not, will Hilcorp be willing to do the same here? Some of these buildings do a pretty good job of containing noise, from I have read.

The one they are building to deal with noise is in Mahoning Township.  Pulaski doesn't want to admit that there IS a noise problem...

Seems like you have not gone to any meetings. There has been much fuss about noise from drilling and compressor and a CPF...

I go to all the meetings, the supervisors, the conditional use hearings and the planning commission meetings. There has not been a public complaint about the central facility off of route 208 (which is what is being discussed) during any of those meetings since that facility went live.

Michelle you seem very up to speed on the goings on in the community meetings. What advice would you have to those that are possibly having issues?

Go to a regularly scheduled supervisor's meeting and voice your concern. They are the first Monday of every month. The next one is this coming Monday, the 5th of October at 7pm at the township building. There is usually a representative from Hilcorp at the meeting. These meetings are generally pretty open, as opposed to the conditional use hearings, and anyone who wants to ask a question or make a comment is allowed. That will put your question or comment into the meeting minutes. That's what I would do. If you cannot attend a meeting, call the township building and ask to talk to one of the supervisors. They are pretty good about calling you back and will address the concern with Hilcorp either directly or at the next meeting. As you said, once they are made aware of an ongoing issue Hilcorp has been pretty good about responding to (and adjusting when they can) those issues that have been brought to them.
