Permalink Reply by Sarah Violet on February 15, 2011 at 4:06am JRA, here is another link for info on Pa, http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/topogeo/oilandgas/marcellus_shale.aspx
If you do a Marcellus Shale Pa search you can find many links regarding Marcellus Shale here in PA. If you can find out what Gas Companies are working in your area, you can do a search on them too. It helps to know what they have done in the past and what their plans are in the future, I keep going back to their sites to get updated info as they post it. I have found a tremendous amount of info here on this site too. This site is where I got started on educating myself on the Gas& Oil Industry. I keep telling everyone I'm taking a crash course in the Marcellus Shale Industry. It takes awhile to soak in all this info, but in the end we'll all be pros. lol
Permalink Reply by Mike Knapp on February 15, 2011 at 4:25am I dont think Lawrence county has enough info in yet to really make a call. It's right in a "transitional" area. It could be a situation where both the Marcellus and Utica are viable, or neither are viable... or one of the two may be viable. It may change in different parts of the county. It's right where the Marcellus is getting TOO shallow, and it's right where the Utica is becoming just shallow enough.
Best I can say is to keep your fingers crossed.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
