Some true,some hearsay...Aubrey is looking for a site to build his regional office with a Cambridge address.  Aep Utica is looking to drill a well behind the General store in Old Washington,early feb.   .AEP is drilling now in Harrison co. Rice will be moving their big rig from Belmont co. to daddy Shugerts well in Old Washington,soon. Bluegrass Pipeline coming thru the county this year. Compressor  station for Antero's well below Senecaville is ready to fire up any day.  Gulfport is sending rigs to Guernsey soon. EQT is wanting to drill 21 new wells in Guernsey this year. Carrizo has 2 pads built,ready to roll. Cheasapeake,all of a  sudden,likes Guernsey,better than Carroll. The company wanting to build an apartment complex at the I-77/Rt.22 site has agreed to help finance a sewer plant needed at that site& Coventry Estates. Motel to be built across from Pilot on the hill almost ready to roll. Some landowners near Quaker City are getting offers of $13,400. per acre to sell their Mineral rights.  Any other tidbits are welcome. You hear things from credible sources that may not even be true,but you be the judge.

I looked on the auditor's site yesterday, couldn't find anything related to division orders.  Took the following off the Chesapeake site.

"Division orders are documents that confirm a mineral owner’s interest in a producing well. Chesapeake sends division orders to an owner four to six months after oil or natural gas is first sold. The documents serve to verify:

  • Legal description of producing property
  • Mineral owner net revenue interest in the producing well
  • Mineral owner Tax ID number (usually an owner’s Social Security Number)
  • Legal provisions

Please note that if you have multiple wells associated with Chesapeake, you will receive a division order for each producing well."

Oh great. I have land in all 4 of the McClain units so if I get a D O for each unit it will be a nightmare to figure out

Follow the screen prompts and you can then get to a page where you search for records by name. If there have been division orders filed, they will turn up.

What I recall about Eclipse from earlier wells coming into production is that division orders are either a last minute thing or come after actual production has begun.

I believe your well is too far from production to expect division orders yet. In fact I am not expecting ours from Chesapeake until maybe late summer even though the last word on actual production was a June target.

I would not cash or deposit a single royalty check until I had my division orders and had them verified as correct.

I am wondering what others experiences have taught them, but unfortunately people tend to leave the site shortly after they begin receiving royalties, I want to stick around and share information so others can better protect what is rightfully theirs and also to correct bad information that may be put out on the site.

Good news!  I heard from a reliable source that folks just south of Salt Fork park entrance have received letters from Ascent,saying they will be renewing their leases this fall that are expiring , and at the original terms. These are the ones that Shell/Swepi signed up 4-1/2 years ago. Maybe this means that the state is ready to lease the Parks minerals? If not, then any wells drilled in this location will be headed towards Old Washington. They must be expecting the price of oil to shoot up because this area has proven to be mostly liquid.

I just checked my mail and sure enough I got a letter from Ascent but stating they want to go over some amended terms with me. My property is close to Old Washington, just north of I-70.

They have the option to amend anything.  You have the option to agree or disagree with the amendments.  

They could not renew your lease and then offer you less money for a new lease.  I leased with Gulfport, they may or may not renew my lease.  They may offer to spread the payments out over the next five years instead of a lump sum payment.  They can amend anything they want.  I don't have to agree to it and then try and lease with a different company or wait until they need my land for a drilling unit.  

I have ben told that Ascent has been offering a 1 year option at 500.00 an acre in other counties and townships. I have yet to discuss anything with Ascent but I will post as soon as I find out anything. I have also heard that maybe some of the leases will remain the same but others they are trying to amend. We'll see.....
