The oil company who we leased with, has told us they will not re-sign us when it's up, in 2013.  Are the oil company's dumping leases?  How do we get in contact with other company's who might be interested in our property?  Thank you.     Mike

Yes, it's with Cabot Oil.  Our property is in Jessup Township, Montrose, Susquehanna County.  Up in 2013.  Any advise would be appreciated.  Thank you

Hard to believe with amount of drilling activity in that area..they would let a lease run out without offering something substantial.  Maybe they going to flip your lease to another company.  If it was me..Id let it run out and sign-up with another company for more $$$$.  Good Luck....
I disagree.  Cabot oil, with whom we have a lease, has been actively drilling in Susquehanna county.  They did a radio interview and mentioned they were concentrating their efforts in Susquehanna.  They are currently doing 3D testing in my area, which is the Lenox area.  We have testing flags on just about every tree on every road near my house.  Dimock is their golden child.  Perhaps they aren't renewing leases in Montrose, because they're concentrating their efforts in the Dimock area, but they are most definitely drilling in Susquehanna.
Go on to Cabot's web site and there is a map of their 5 yr drilling plan by year. You can see if your area falls into their plans. They are very active in Susq county but there are areas where there are no planned drilling through 2014. Lenox area is starting to gear up for 2012 drilling, Williams has been organizing ROWs for gathering lines throughout that entire area.
