I have read about the Utica shale and I have a question. If the gas companies drill into the Marcellus shale at a later date can they drill again in the same well deeper to the Utica shale. I have read drilling to the Utica shale may be a few years from now, will that mean new leases of still the Marcellus lease. Just wondering thanks

I don't think they could use the same wellbore, since they are permitted to a set depth, however there's talk of using the same wellpad since the preparation is already done.
They will use a different wellbore, however they will likely use the same drilling pad.  Also, depending on the language of the lease you have, if you already have a producing Marcellus well on your property, then they will not need a new lease to drill the Utica.

How can they drill for Utica if you have a lease for Marcellus? Should you get lease money again?

Deci,

The answer to your questions is no. They would have to drill another well to get to the Utica.

They have and will in some cases use the same wellbore and produce from two different formations.  It has been done, however the point right now is to tie this acreage up not overflood the market with product.
