Just recently we recieved a letter asking us for permission to do the above on our farm from ION Geophysical and the contractors name is mcdonald land services. Our lease is with Range at present. They were offering us 5 bucks an acre to do such a study. I did speak with them and it appeared very legit. Would others view as same? or at least a positive? Chevron is about 2 miles away and doing 2 horizontals. I appreciate any thoughts. Scott

The availability of seismic data will potentially increase the interest in drilling ... sooner, rather than later.
$5/acre seems a paltry sum (and it is), but that seems to be all that is on offer (and they usually stick to it).
I consider that you have much more to gain than lose in allowing them to proceed; $5/acre is peanuts ... but those are peanuts that could feed the elephant.
ALL IMHO,
JS
