Adjacent wells

Can two seperate wells that are in the same general area have overlapping plats?  A well is planned to be drilled on the edge of the plat that iam currently in.If laterals from that well cross into my plat, will everyone in my group  get royalties even though it is a different well? Hope this is clear.
