Permalink Reply by Dan Warner on March 22, 2015 at 4:42am That has been a concern for many, even in the days of the 1 mile laterals.
It seems to me that, as the well count gets denser, any 'liberties' taken could be risking collision with other wells.
Talk about being caught with your hand in the cookie jar.
Permalink Reply by bo boboski on March 22, 2015 at 5:01am I believe they have to run those laterals out that far so they can get the oil&gas from under the lake. They must have that area all leased, but only can get their pads a certain distance from the Muskingum Watershed properties. Have to build the pads on private property?
Permalink Reply by KB on March 22, 2015 at 2:22pm Could you provide the information as you described? it sounds like the wells will be 23500 MD. which would be a long lateral, but probably more like 13,000 feet.
Permalink Reply by Thomas Rockwell on March 22, 2015 at 5:22pm It will be interesting to see if they use knowledge gained from these long laterals and apply it to their Memorial Park rig planned for Barnesville this fall. 13,000 feet would allow them to go clear through the town and reach their reservoir properties southeast of town with one pad.
Permalink Reply by bo boboski on March 22, 2015 at 11:02pm It will be interesting to see what kind of production these wells will do. It gets them under the lake and under a lot more properties by utilizing one pad. May also be an experiment. Noble co. ohio, wayne twp. Turkey unit. ODNR oil&gas database.

Permalink Reply by bo boboski on March 23, 2015 at 1:19pm If you pull down the actual permit plat from odnr, the actual horizontal portion of the well is 13,000'. The reason is the target is about 10k' straight down but you have to build a gradual curve as you are drilling so when you are finished you can get steel casing into the ground all the way to bottom. Just fyi....

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
